Hair dye help

Good morning!

I dye my hair blonde at home myself every 6-8 weeks.

I have read so many differing views on if it is safe and isn't and I'm in the over cautious camp at the moment as I'm super early on (5wks) and am quite anxious so ultimately I'm happy to have awful roots...

But! Was wondering if there are any 'safe' products I could use, even if it just to lighten my roots to make them look less bad!!

Thanks Smile

Hello! Congratulations!! When I was pregnant I was recommended Garnier olia. It faded quickly but didn't affect me in my pregnancy. Just to make sure you might want to wait until your in your second trimester. Goodluck!

It’s perfectly safe to colour your hair during pregnancy.

Make sure you do a patch test as your skin might be extra sensitive and ensure the room is well ventilated :)

I had purple hair when I found out I was pregnant, decided to put a brown all over just so I wasnt dying it every 6 weeks as i was personally worried about the smell.
My midwife said its fine to dye my hair just make sure room is well ventilated (i shoved toilet roll up my nose just to be safe 😂)
I used LiveXXL just be warned it might not take aswell on your hair because of hormornes

I’ve dyed my hair throughout - as people say you might just feel more sensitive in your skin... I’ve felt the same personally but worth doing another patch test. Just open the window if you do it yourself maybe? Or do it at the hairdressers

I had my hair coloured at the salon whilst in slow labour! your fine to colour your hair

I use Lush henna which is non-chemical and completely safe but it only comes in dark colours (red, brown, dark brown) so not much good if you want to stay blonde, sorry.

I didn’t but I was super anxious due to previous MC (not in anyway connected to hair dye!) apparently foil highlights are extra safe as the dye doesn’t touch the scalp
