Hi everyone, just wanting to know how long it took you to get pregnant after having the coil out.

Me and my partner are trying for a baby and I've had mine out since the 6th of August, I was thinking about getting some ovulation test any one had any experiences using some.

Thanks xx

Your fertility should be normal as soon as its out as youve not had artificial hormones in your system.

I wasn't immediately TTC after having mine removed but tracked my temp with Natural Cycles for 11 months and used that to indicate when I was fertile (ov tests are optional and not massively reliable as to ov date - temp (basal body temperature) is more accurate.. When it came to TTC I got pregnant first try. Now 9+3 and hoping all ok in there!

Good luck!

There was a thread awhile back in conception (probably a year or more) about this. Lots of us reported that cycles were a bit messed up after removal.

It took me two and a half years of ttc and a round of ivf for unexplained infertility. Everyone's different...

Hi! Everyone is so different but having a copper coil with no hormones means that you should be back to normal the second you have it out. I had mine out mid March 2018 and I'm due 5 weeks today! I appreciate that this happened ridiculously fast and we were shocked and how quickly I became pregnant. That said, I had a huge bleed at 6 weeks with clots and I do question if this was linked! good luck 💕 Xx

Um…about 10 days! Shock

BUT I had mine taken out the week I ovulated and was definitely ‘timing’ things….the nurse did say at the time that it could take up to a year, as with TTC normally. The coil doesn’t affect fertility or anything.
You’re well within the normal time frame so don’t stress
