My cervix is usually quite low when not pregnant, had a normal birth with DD 5 years ago, no forceps, vacuum intervention etc.

I can’t say I’ve felt it rise up at all so far during the first trimester, it seems to come further down when I’m sat and appears slightly further up when I’m stood up.

I’m a bit worried as heard it’s meant to rise up pretty early in the first trimester. It’s pretty soft which I’ve heard is normal, just a bit bothered about how low it is.

I had an examination with my last pregnancy in June at 7 weeks (which sadly ended in MMC) and it was pretty low then too but they never mentioned anything when exaimining me which if it was cause f concern I’m sure they would?

WWYD? Do I contact my MW or GP or just leave it be.

Stop messing with your cervix I'd say. Just no need.

I was a cervix checker after spending a long time TTC, but was warned to stop once I fell pregnant as it shouldn't be messed with if there's no other reason for concern. I was also worried at the time that it wasn't high enough, but took the advice and all was fine.

Keep an eye on your symptoms, if you're still worried definitely get checked out by a professional Thanks

To be fair I’m not massively worried and you’re both right, I shouldn’t be messing around with it (although I’ve thoroughly cleaned my hands before doing so and haven’t been prodding and poking - literally just a touch)

Symptoms are still there although have started lessening ever so slightly which I think is normal for this stage.

Honestly the best possible thing you can do is relax, stop checking, you'll have your scan soon enough. Best of luck, enjoy your pregnancy.

@bobstersmum thank you! It’s a week today so I’m pretty excited/nervous all bundled into one.

Just leave it be! The position of your cervix is meaningless at this stage and there’s nothing your GP or midwife would do other than tell you to stop checking it.
