Baby movements

Hi guys. After googling and searching, I’ve downloaded baby kicks to ensure that I’m keeping note of baby kicking. However I’m quite concerned as baby tends to kick lots on certain days and then not as much on other days. For example maybe 12 kicks on some
Days and then maybe 20 on other. Is this normal?

Its not the amount its the timing

Like mine always kicks at 8pm-ish (obviously not just then but know she always kicks then and thats just an example)

So as long as they move when they normally move its okay

Kicks count have a great fb page and im sure they can explain it better than me😅

Your midwife should of told you “never to count the amount of kicks” it’s not the amount like 1 2 3 it’s like the timing like oh god this baby always kicks in the morning after I pee and then when I get in the bath then when I lay back down at night to sleep or maybe the baby kicks when your on your left side in bed etc

Oops so I’ve been doing it incorrect all along 🤦🏽‍♀️ She use to have a good movement routine however now she moves at different times. I know there are certain sounds and movements that make her kick or move, but as for timing unless she has a routine again, I won’t be able to check on it

How many weeks pregnant are you? It’s quite normal for the pattern to vary a lot earlier on but then it should get a bit more recognisable.

Mine is often quite quiet in the mornings but then very active in the evening and when I go to bed. So I don’t worry too much if I don’t feel much early in the day but I would worry if I wasn’t feeling anything at this time of day, if that makes sense.

I’m 24 weeks. I feel some movement in the morning, more before 12 than than the rest of the day.

Mine changed her routine at 24 weeks, she was very set with the times she moved from 20-24 weeks then she had a quiet day and after a reassuring trip to the hospital for reduced movement she woke up the next day with a new routine.

I think there isn't a proper pattern before a certain number of weeks, maybe 26?? Can't remember

I am 32 weeks and find that I get loads of movement for a few days (almost constantly) then much slower, less intense movement for about 2 days, then it starts again. I still feel baby move on the quiet days but it's much calmer and more chilled. My midwife has said that this is my pattern and so not to worry about the quieter days unless the movement stops / reduces compared with how things have been. I don't know if it affects things but I do have an anterior placenta .
All these babies are so different, it can be really hard to know what's normal because I guess there is no such thing!
