Tell pregnancy from CT?

So I went for a CT scan this morning and was asked the usual is there any chance you could be pregnant question, after an awful nights sleep with DD (5 months) I laughed and said definitely not.

The scan was done and then the technician came out, he’s really concerned me as he then asked for the date of my last period, around 28 days ago, and then repeated ‘and there is no chance you could be pregnant?’

My question is, it was a chest CT but I’m obviously not sure how low they went with it. Is there a possibility he’s seen something? We have used protection since DD was born, but obviously nothing is 100%. I know the only way to be sure is to get a test in a few days if my period doesn’t appear. Just curious if anyone has any insight.

I don't know why he would be so cryptic about this stupid ma , either say something or dont! You need to know asap.
I would say hea seen something, but surprised at him looking so low down for a chest scan! I mean, its mile away
If there are any medics about there might be something that they can add to this that would make sense of it.

If you've not had a condom split or been taking the pill and not been ill at all.

If you are ebf this will keep your period in check also and prevent ovulation for a while at least.

A chest CT would not show if you were pregnant. If it was a chest/abdo/pelvis CT and it did show anything then they would have a duty of care to inform you immediately.

I suspect he probably just forgot to write down your LMP on the form the first time he asked you and that’s why he came back and asked again.

I think the double checking was because you could have been trying to get pregnant. If you said your period was a week ago they would know there wouldn’t be a chance you could be pregnant. But 28 days ago could mean you had conceived.

Probably not but - do you still have a bit of a baby bump? I remember being asked when my baby was due a few weeks after the birth. I was actually pushing newborn baby in pram at the time.

Thanks, it just seemed a little silly to be double checking once the scan had been done, as any damage (if any) would have been done by then!!

There’s still a bit of baby podge but not pregnant looking, just chubby! Haha

Have you done a pregnancy test just to check?

Thetigerwhocameto · 12/11/2018 09:25

@reaa, no because I haven’t missed my period yet.
