Hello
I had my c section on 5th November and now have a beautiful baby girl. After 5 days the dressing came off. I am still feeling discomfort and stinging sensation.
My midwife came on saturday and said it was normal and the wound and recovery is going well and just to take painkillers regularly.
Painkillers are not taking the stinging sensation away. Please help.

What kind of stitches did you get? I had staples and they stung for a while and then became very itchy when they were ready to come out. You have had major abdominal surgery, I would just try to rest as much as you can. Are you doing more than you should?
As long as your wound isn't weeping or changed colour it should be fine x

It will take a good few weeks for the pain to totally go. It’s major surgery hence the recommendation to limit lifting/driving etc. If all you are getting is stinging to be honest I would be happy! Just keep an eye that your wound doesn’t look infected

Thank you
I have had dissolvable stitches and the area is clean from weeping. I have alot of support from my family and husband and getting plenty of rest. Laying down i am ok no stinging, it is when i am sat up i feel stinging and soreness on one side. I will keep an eye on it x

I had mine on 29th October and the pain only really started to subside after a week. Now two weeks down the line and barely ever have pain. There is an almighty pulling sensation whenever I sneeze or cough so I dread that but aside from that I almost forget I had it.

Sounds good then, try not to worry! And of course congratulations!!! X

I had a mild fungal infection around the scar and it was a bit sore on one side. Does the skin around it look red? The midwife sent me to the GP who prescribed Daktarin. Don't put anything on it without asking a professional though.
I have heard that a maxi pad on the scar can help to prevent the skin rubbing which might help as well.
