I am in agony. I’m 27 weeks pregnant tomorrow and my whole right side is in agony. It’s so painful I want to cry. It starts from just below my right rib, along my back down to my right pubic bone.

I’ve also been having lower abdominal pain and several bowel movements, the last one being more like diarrhoea. I also feel sick.

Is this a normal thing at 27 weeks or is it a bug or something more sinister?

Please kill me

If you're in agony you should get yourself to A&E, or call 999. You need urgent care, not internet advice..

whatsnewchoochoo · 11/11/2018 16:20

Well I didn't have it and I had most symptoms so I'd get checked out if I were you

DearTeddyRobinson · 11/11/2018 16:22

Doesn't sound like a typical pregnancy symptoms OP, I'd call 111 at least.

Mummykaz90 · 11/11/2018 16:24

Hiya I would go get checked out to see if you have a uti or something. I've jus had similar to this and found out I have kidney infection.

Insomuchpainpleasekillme · 11/11/2018 16:53

Thanks all. Pain hasn’t gone away even after a bath so I’m going to wait an hour and then ring.

Gonna feel so silly if it’s just a bug but it’s the right side pain that’s more painful

Wolfiefan · 11/11/2018 16:55

Honestly I wouldn’t wait an hour. If the pain makes you want to cry that sounds extreme. Are you alone?

Brenna24 · 11/11/2018 16:57

Don't wait an hour. Call triage now.

Insomuchpainpleasekillme · 11/11/2018 17:02

Who should I call? The midwife triage service or 111?

Sorry I’ve never had this do this before! Worried about wasting people’s time Sad

Ring 111. They would rather you waste their time than not ring when you need help. Xx

Sunshinegirl82 · 11/11/2018 17:05

I'd call now. Could be pregnancy related or something else altogether like appendicitis, either way you're best checked out sooner rather than later.

LewisMam · 11/11/2018 17:06

I suffered excruciating pain in my hips due to SPD. The pain in my joints and ligaments didn’t go away till I gave birth. Just so you know it could be something perfectly innocent. Still get checked out but don’t panic.

Sunshinegirl82 · 11/11/2018 17:06

I'd call 111 or labour ward. Check your notes. If it's really bad just go straight a&e.

GlitterRollerSkate · 11/11/2018 17:07

My lo had what we later found out was croup. I rang 111 as I was worried about the cough. A doctor rang me back gave me some advice and said I was okay to wait to see a gp the next day and what to do if they got worse.

Stormwhale · 11/11/2018 17:09

Definitely at least call 111 for advice op. That is what they are there for. However, I would think that sudden onset of pain like that is an emergency and I would be taking you to a&e if you were my loved one.

GirlCroosh · 11/11/2018 17:10

They won't treat you like you're silly. I had a random pain in my side at about the same amount of weeks. 111 told me to go to A&E, they sent me straight to labour ward. Kept me in for a few hours to monitor me and baby. Never found out what the pain was, it went away over the next day. But at least we knew baby was fine. Call 111 or go to hospital.

Baby160P · 11/11/2018 17:12

Omg I had this the Monday before last.
Was in tears in the bath. (25+4)

Ended up in a and e who were useless!!

Not all are the same.

They said it could be a kidney infection so I did a urine test and all clear (4 hours later!!!)

They refused to check baby was ok or for me to see a midwife.

They said it was just ligaments.

Tootyfilou · 11/11/2018 17:15

Do not call 111 complete waste of time. Phone the triage number you have. I am a midwife. Hope you feel better soon.

mussie · 11/11/2018 17:21

I would agree, phone maternity triage. They'll be able to give you much more specialist advice than a call handler at 111.

FrazzyAndFrumpled · 11/11/2018 17:26

I’d be on the phone to maternity triage, too. Have you taken painkillers? Any sign of urine infection? Hope it passes soon.

Mummykaz90 · 11/11/2018 17:33

Yeah if I was you I would call triage. My pain was exactly same as yours and bath and painkillers didn't touch it. I had it for 2 days and thought I had just pulled my back from work. Didn't have no other symotors of anything and when I went to see doctor she took a urine sample and I had kidney infection and put straight on antibiotics. Please don't wait as although it could be something completely innocent on the other hand it could be something concerning. Good luck let us know how you get on x

Insomuchpainpleasekillme · 11/11/2018 17:35

Thanks everyone!

I haven’t rang yet but the pain has eased a fair bit and cramping has stopped so I’m just gonna see how it goes

Thank you so much everyone!

OP posts:
FrazzyAndFrumpled · 11/11/2018 17:36

Glad it’s eased a little Smile

user1471457757 · 11/11/2018 17:56

Definitely call triage, there's no point taking risks and they'll always be happy to see you if you're worried about something.

Insomuchpainpleasekillme · 11/11/2018 18:36

Never mind it’s come back with a vengeance along with the sickness, cramps and bowel movements.

I’ll ring midwife now

OP posts:
Wolfiefan · 11/11/2018 18:39

Hope all is ok OP. Thinking of you.
