Has anyone got pregnant when using the pull out method, pulling out every time on time?

It's still entirely possible (and likely) to get pregant even if your partner pulls out.

RiverTam · 11/11/2018 09:31

That is surely not a method of contraception?

dogwoofbark · 11/11/2018 09:32

Yes I have.

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/11/2018 09:33

I think this is a very reliable method of contraception if done properly I used it for 8 months and the first month we tried, I fell pregnant.

Obviously I wouldn't use it if it would be disastrous to get pregnant. But if I wasn't trying, but equally didn't mind ie was in a good position to get pregnant, then it's fine. I actually know someone who used this method successfully for years, and as soon as she went on the mini pill (and stopped withdrawing) she got pregnant!

AntiHop · 11/11/2018 09:34

I haven't, because I don't use it. It doesn't work because some sperm comes out before evacuation.

AntiHop · 11/11/2018 09:35

Opps ejaculation.

PeachyBananas · 11/11/2018 09:36

Pulling out is not a form of contraception.

Birdie6 · 11/11/2018 09:36

You do know that small amounts of sperm come out during sex, before the man ejaculates ? This is definitely NOT a reliable method of contraception !

gamerchick · 11/11/2018 09:37

How can you predict what 'on time' means when sperm can come out in precum?

It's a method to use where if becoming pregnant wouldn't be the end of the world.

dogwoofbark · 11/11/2018 09:40

@Lookingforadvice123

It really isn't reliable. We did it 'properly' and I got pregnant.

PixieCutRegret · 11/11/2018 09:42

2 pregnancies in 6 years from withdrawal method. We were in a good position to have children otherwise we would have used other forms of contraception.

Yogagirl123 · 11/11/2018 09:45

DH & I used this method on and off for around 11 years, I never got pregnant.

Once we were TTC I was pregnant the first month of trying with both of our children.

It worked for us but of course not a reliable form of contraception.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 11/11/2018 09:49

My friend's second daughter is a result of this form of birth control.

jdr1234 · 12/11/2018 18:25

I have just found out I am pregnant with number 3 and we were using this “‘method” would not of been doing this if getting pregnant was a disaster but I still didn’t expect to fall this way!

Roomba · 12/11/2018 18:29

Yes. And I know several friends/family who have too. Including those who used fancy apps and temperature taking combos that were supposed to be 'highly effective' to avoid pregnancy. Doesn't work!

ChocolateChipMuffin2016 · 12/11/2018 18:56

I haven’t used it as I don’t think it’s a reliable method of contraception. I know someone who did and got pregnant.
