I know this is a weird one....

I have an essential oil diffuser thing in my living room. I LOVE vanilla-y type smells in my living room (that's the scent of plug in I normally use). A smell similar to that makes me feel cosy ❤️.

Is a vanilla essential oil safe in pregnancy? Or can anyone recommend one that might smell similar.

The best source of information on essential oils in pregnancy is here - www.naha.org/index.php/explore-aromatherapy/safety/#pregnancy

It has a list of what should definitely be avoided, and vanilla isn't on there. The basic rule for everything else seems to be, don't eat it and you're fine. There's never been a case of miscarriage or abnormality unless essential oils have been ingested. So used in a diffuser should be fine.

It does also have a list of ones that are good for pregnancy. It might me worth checking it out and seeing what you like. Something like chamomile may appeal if you like vanilla.
