Early detection

So I want to be pregnant, I already have a 3 year old son, has anyone had pregnancy symptoms and tested early (before missed period) got a negative but then tested positive once you have missed period? I hope this is going to happen to me. Or could I just be imagining pregnancy symptoms!

I would say this is quite common. Most pregnancy tests aren’t sensitive enough to detect the pregnancy hormone until there is a fair bit in your system (which there usually is by the time your period is due).

However, many pre-period symptoms are identical to “early pregnancy” symptoms so I would try not to pay too much attention to them if you can.

Tested negative until the day after my period was due and remember having a whinge at the time that early pregnancy/period due symptoms are all the same :) Wishing you luck op xx

Yeah I’ve had little patience and tested 2 days before it would get picked up on an early pregnancy test in the hope that “what does two days matter”...think I will have to ride it out until the start of next week if AF doesn’t show...I know PMS can be the same symptoms but my god they are similar! Mainly for the sore boobs for me and the strange cravings I’ve noticed I get a dry throat through the night for last week or so and obviously google says this is an early sign! 🤔
