My cramps in early pregnancy were awful. I didn't know I was pregnant (wasn't trying for a baby) and assumed I was having the worst period pains I'd ever experienced.
When I then found I was pregnant I was so concerned but assured by a doc that it was natural and would pass. By 6weeks I was fine

@SadieContrary thank you. That makes me feel better

I'm currently 6 + 4 with my first and I've had awful cramps too :( i was worried at first but its due to your uterus stretching and preparing for the growing baby. As long as you're not experiencing the cramps in one specific area or are passing blood clots it should be fine. But any worries contact your gp

I had lots of cramps for the first 12 or so weeks. I was really worried but currently cuddling my 11 week old :-) x

I’m 11 weeks today and have been having a lot of cramps as well as occasional backache. It’s very common and without spotting or bleeding is more likely to be a side effect of all the growing your uterus has been doing.

It really freaks me out too though sometimes!

I had them on and off throughout my last pregnancy. They pretty much never went away and all was fine.

Stephisaur · 10/11/2018 11:23

I had cramps from 6dpo to around 6 weeks of pregnancy.

Everything was fine. Currently 34+5 and little man is having a party in there! They’re probably just stretching pains :)
