How do you find somewhere to have a private scan?

I'm in very very early stages and having had 2 mcs am feeling quite anxious. I haven't seen GP yet as we're off on holiday tomorrow but am hoing he might refer me for an early viabilty scan if I make it to 7 or 8 weeks (I know it doesn't really help much but for my peace of mind I'd like one). If he doesn't agree, I'd like to have a private one but have been googling for what seems like hours and can't find anywhere- well I found a BUPA place but it is done as part of incontinency treatment so I'm not convinced they'd be experts iyswim. SO can anyone receommend somewhere near Bristol/ Birmingham/ Glos and give me an ida of the cost involved? Thanks!

Ask the MW. She'll know of the nearest.

There is a place in Solihull (not far from Birmingham) that does them. It's called MUMS - they're on the net if you just google for them. They're great - I think we paid £80 for ours. Worth every penny.

Thanks, will try that. I haven't seen the MW yet and will (hopefully) be nearly 7 weeks by the time i get back from hols so I'd like it as soon after that as possible. Solihull isn't far from me so am off to have look, thank you

I know its not exactly the same but I had a nuchal scan at 12 weeks at the Ridgeway Hospital in Wroughton near Swindon (4 miles off the M4 J16).
This was 3.5 years ago when the first scan offered on the NHS was 20 weeks and because I was "old" (over 35) they recommended I have this private one.

I second the place in Solihull that CD mentioned -I've been there and know others that have. Very good.

There is also somewhere in Cheltenham ,at the main hospital I think, but I seem to remember they only had limited appts. (evening appts or something?) which is why we never used them.

Most private scan clinics make a lot of thier £ out of 3D scans, so if you search google for that you will find plenty.
