Pregnancy after miscarriage, no AF in between?

Hi ladies, please help me out! my last AF was 14 August & sadly MC on the 9th October. I had a scan on 14th & they confirmed everything had gone & didn’t need d&c. I’m not even sure how you work out your dates / ovulation / AF from this but this week I’ve had sore boobs, morning sickness & white discharge ( sorry if tmi!) took a test this morning & bfp! I’m too scared to get excited in case I’m not “! Has this happened to anybody else?

Hi!
Sorry about your miscarriage but congrats on the positive!
I had a miscarriage in February this year and waited for AF in March but nothing happened. Got a BFP in April completely unexpected! My little bump is cooking away nicely and due on Christmas Eve so yes it can happen Smile your body is apparently very fertile for a few months after a miscarriage x

Voodoobizkits · 09/11/2018 12:23

It can deffo happen. This happened to me. Knew I was having a miscarriage straight away and was before I had my app with drs so I cancelled told them and they told me to go hosp for early scan (walk in) next day, to make sure everything OK and nothing left in system. I did so, everything had gone. Few weeks later found I was pregnant again, booking app at Hosp I had no idea how far gone I was but estimated about 7 weeks. Lucky for me, someone cancelled their scan so they asked me to have one to get a better idea how far along I was. Turned out I was 14wks and missed the whole first trimester!! Crazy.

sorry for your loss Roomarmoset but massive congratulations! I was shocked when I got a bfp because I was convinced it was just in my head after everything that’s just happened! Did you go for an early dating scan or did they just make you wait until 12 weeks? Don’t think I could wait another 2 months just worrying! Xx

I was a little bit naughty, when I got the positive I went to see my GP, she said that the early pregnancy unit wouldn't see me unless I had some bleeding and cramps. I think she could see how nervous I was and phoned the EPU while I was there and said I was having slight bleeding and cramps so they scanned me at 6 weeks. It did put my mind at rest but you still worry x

Sexnotgender · 09/11/2018 12:57

Happened to me! I’m 30 weeks tomorrow.

I had an early miscarriage at 5/6 weeks on 17th April and got my BFP 13th May. I got negative tests in between.

Sexnotgender · 09/11/2018 12:58

Sorry, congratulations!! Hope it goes well Flowers

whiteonesugar · 09/11/2018 16:28

Yes it happened to me this time. I MC at 6 weeks on 22nd September and am currently 7 weeks pregnant again; no AF in between. Good luck!

Louloumummy · 09/11/2018 17:49

Thanks everyone It’s good to know ( in the nicest possible way! ) that you all have had similar experiences, a little more at ease now I guess! When did any of you begin to relax & enjoy it after the worry of what happened before? Xx

I’ll be totally honest, with DS I had 3 MC before him and didn’t really relax until I’d had about 3 scans (I had them fortnightly until 12 weeks) and with this one I’m not sure when it will happen.

The thing that stops me freaking out is that whatever I do / feel won’t change anything, if it’s gonna work it will work and if not it won’t and however I feel won’t affect the outcome so I may as well try and be relaxed and not spend all my energy worrying x

Sexnotgender · 09/11/2018 20:13

I didn’t really relax until my 20 week scan. 12 weeks was reassuring but 20 weeks really helped.

I still have anxiety but my he’s jumping around like a crazy beast right now so feeling ok.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 10/11/2018 09:47

Not the same by any stretch as I had two periods after my MMC and ERPC in June but my last AF was 25th of August and I’m 11 weeks today Smile

The pregnancy we lost took us 2 and a half years to conceive and was the second consequtive MC we’d had. But amazingly just over two months later I fell again. I’d heard that you’re more fertile after a MC and was worried about whether my ERPC had affected my ability to conceive but everything seems to be going well so far.

nearlytimeforthebigman · 10/11/2018 16:08

Sorry what does AF mean?

isthatalright · 10/11/2018 16:13

@Voodoobizkits I don't understand though, if you were scanned at the miscarriage and everything come away how could you of been pregnant at that point? X

Hoppinggreen · 10/11/2018 16:16

I’m sorry for your loss
It happened to me, I lost my baby at 12 weeks and got pg 1 week later.
Had no idea it was even possible. I was basically pg for a whole year
I won’t lie, it was mentally very hard for me and a lot of people thought it meant that everything was ok and it was like my baby hasn’t died at all. My Mum thought I was having some sort of breakdown when I told her I was pg again!!
Dd is 13 now and awesome though so it turned out ok

Ilovemypyjamas · 10/11/2018 16:48

Hello, I am literally in the same boat as you OP. Almost the same dates - last period was 13th August and mc was 3rd October. Have been waiting for AF to show up but nothing, so yesterday I took a test and it came up positive almost immediately with a dark line. I'm going to wait a week and then phone the midwife, I was told to phone for an early scan as this was my second miscarriage. Trying not to get my hopes up! Good luck OP and let us know how you get on xx

Louloumummy · 10/11/2018 20:14

Thanks everyone, big hugs for new chapters!
Ilovemypyjamas Wow that’s crazy isn’t it that we’re almost exactly the same! I know what you mean, I’m not even allowing myself to think like I’m preparing for a baby at all yet! I’m going to do the same with midwife, no doubt I’ll get a telling off as she told me to have a period before trying again lol I genuinely didn’t think it would happen so soon though! Xx

Yes, I am fully anticipating a ticking off from the midwife too. Oh dear!! I will take a row if it means a healthy baby at the end of all this.... But like you I just didn't expect anything to happen so quickly Confused

homebirds · 10/11/2018 20:49

Yes this happened to me too. I was told to wait but age wise I was seriously running out of time so I just went for it. She's a little girl now.

GemmaJen · 10/11/2018 21:18

After having a MMC at 11w this week this is so reassuring to hear - can't wait to be pg again, even if it takes a while. Good luck to all of you and congratulations Grin

Ilovemypyjamas · 10/11/2018 22:26

Sorry for your loss GemmaJen and hope all goes well for you soon. Look after yourself and big hugs to you Flowers

Michellebops · 12/11/2018 19:28

I'm pleased to hear all these positive outcomes.
I had a mmc at 12+4 (found out at scan) on 16th October. Had the surgery a couple of days later.
Was told to start trying again if we wanted to and so far I've not had a period and starting to get sore boobs, and sore pains down below.
I did a test last Friday and it had the faintest of lines that I don't know if my eyes are deceiving me. Going to wait another 7-10 days before taking another though the wait is killing me.
Good luck everyone 🤞
