4 days of contractions later

I'm 37+5 today with baby no. 4, had a midwife appointment on Tuesday where she felt baby's position and her words where if he was any lower he would be hanging out...
Since she's moved him about I've had contractions every 40 mins and no plug or waters gone but I feel like I'm going mad.
Day 4 now an my insides hurt 😭 midwives aren't worried he's moving around like normal and they don't want to drag me in for checking as it's not progressed and he's not stressed.
Please help me will this baby out I've tried pretty much everything to get him going only to be disappointed when it all slows down again

It's shit isn't it. I had long latent phases with dc4 & 5. Dc4 evetually stalled & I needed the drip. Dc5 was induced due to complications. This is after the Cons & MWs worrying me to death both times about getting their in time because my 3rd labour was relatively quick (not higely but 5 hours start to finish). Not much advice I'm afraid other than try & balance resting (I know, what's that with other dc) & keeping busy. You know yourself you won't be pregnant/ contracting forever.
