Losing my mucus plug at 15 weeks?

Hi, just looking for a bit of advice, sorry if parts if this post are a bit TMI.

So I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant with DC no 2, and throughout my entire pregnancy so far I've quite often had quite mucus'y discharge, no smell, pain or itching so I'm pretty sure there's no infection or anything like that. Up until today it's been very much like EWCM (anyone who's been on the TTC threads will know what I'm on about). Also I seem to be generating loads of it!

So a little while ago today, I went to the loo, wiped and there was a huge gelatinous glob of yellow tinged discharge on the toilet paper when I wiped, way more than what I would consider normal and it was much thicker than usual. No blood in it or anything like that though, I had a search on Google images for 'mucus plug, no blood' and it looked very much like some of the pics on google tbh.

This never happened when I was pregnant with DD? Could it have something to do with the fact me and DP had sex last night? Or would it be highly unlikely to be related to that a whole 24 hours after? I'm now scared to sleep with my partner if it means it's going to trigger me to lose my mucus plug (if that's what it is) also scared about the risk of infection of there's no plug there to protect everything IYSWIM?

I think i read somewhere that it can be quite normal to lose your mucus plug several times in pregnancy and it does just grow back. Can't be 100% sure where I read it so not sure if it came from a reliable source. Anyone else heard this?

I have my 16 week appointment with the midwife next week so I'll mention it to her then, however I'll probably not ring her before then as I don't feel this is serious enough to warrant that, i am just slightly concerned.

Could it be as it's my second baby my cervix is slightly more open and therefore my plug is more susceptible to coming out?

What do you think ladies? I'm really confused?

I was going to ask if it’s more obvious after sex! I get this too, panicked the first time and phoned the midwife, and the first thing she asked was if I’d recently had sex.

Obviously still call if you’re worried.

I lost mine at 16 weeks, I'm 30 weeks now.

I’ve read too that it’s common for it to fall out and grow back again, but I’m not sure either where I’ve read it!

I lost mine in smaller bits over weeks and weeks which can be normal. If you're concerned it's always worth giving the midwife a call and running it past her just for reassurance :)
