Hello all, I'm after some advice. I have extremely regular periods, 28 days to the dot. I recently had a miscarriage but when I first did a test the line was very faint, I could hardly see it. That was being 2 days late.
I'm currently one day late and I did a test today, negative. I just wondered if the level of hcg would be the same for each pregnancy and whether I may have just tested too early (For me). Has anyone else ever heard of false negatives one day late? Thanks all.

I was negative until 2 days late. Keep testing! Fingers crossed for you!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage :(

It might have messed with your cycle. If you weren’t tracking ovulation, then it could be that you’ve ovulated late (or haven’t ovulated at all yet!) so I would suggest you keep testing once a week or until AF arrives.

Try not to take too many unnecessary tests, it’s just a waste of money xx

I was negative up until a week late! Was 4 days late and tested every day, negative! Went on my hen weekend thinking I was late and it had to be pre wedding stress...tested 3 days later and it was positive. It definitely happens. Good luck and try to hold out for 48 hours or so and test again xx

Thank you all that's really helpful. Since the misscarriage in June I went straight back to every 28 days. It's so hard to know what to do. I might do another test today and see. I'm worried that as I'm so regular if it's negative again there is some other reason why I'm late. The whole thing is just stressing me out! Thank you though, you've all put my mind at rest. Smile

I was very regular and one month I slipped from 24-28 day cycles. I assume I ovulated late. If i check my ovulation days I can usually tell how long my cycle will be. This month though, I assumed this was happening, I had totally convinced myself I was out, booked a massage, ate camembert, and then when AF didn't arrive I thought why not test once more. It was originally stark white and I was annoyed at myself for wasting another expensive test. But then a line started to appear, I literally was rubbing my eyes! I've done 3 tests now and still don't believe it!! Good luck for today, and if it's BFN then there's always next month. I know how stressful it all it as I'm a total control freak and I hate that we get no control over this! Sometimes you just have to let it happen. This month we timed it perfectly with ovulation and used preseed for the first time, so I have to admit I'm definitely a believer in that messy stuff!!

We'll I thought I did ovulate at the normal time, I had all the symptoms of ovulation and I did test which said I was, right at my usual time. Its all so confusing and I find it's all I think about. I don't want to test again in case it's too early still. Oh well, time will tell. Xx

@NB2018 that's exactly how I felt. I didn't want to test because I had convinced myself I was out this month. As time went on I was getting hopeful again and didn't want the disappointment again, and I was using my last FRER and they're so damn expensive!! I was still getting negatives with my IC so I've totally written those off! Try an early response and if you're a couple of days late that result should be accurate x

NB2018 · 10/11/2018 09:58

I did use first response and early sign! That's why I wondered if perhaps it's just my body. Only as the line was so so faint last time 2 days late. It was barley anything but when I used clear blue digital it told me I was 1-2 weeks. Perhaps I'll invest in on of those again. I feel like I can trust clear blue. Xx

Are you testing first thing in the morning?

NB2018 · 10/11/2018 11:14

Yes I did this time, the pregnancy that ended in miscarriage I didn't so that could also explain the faint result. I hadn't thought of that actually. Thank you for thinking of that.

Also I have never posted on a forum like this before and I just want to say I'm so grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts. Xx

Trying after miscarriage is scary and you will doubt yourself. Try again in 2 days if still no AF.

Good luck. X
