Hi, just wondering if anyone else is due today the same as me and how they are getting on? No sign of my little one yet but hoping he makes an appearance soon. Today I’ve been making a giant cottage pie and stew to portion out and freeze. If it’s fine tomorrow I’m going to go for a walk tomorow to try and coax baby out and I might even eat some fresh pineapple 🍍 as heard these sometimes help little ones decide to come out and say hello 😊 this is my first baby so I’m excited but also nervous about the labour. Good luck to other ladies who are due in the next few days x

Have you tried going up and down stairs OP?

sunshineandshowers21 · 08/11/2018 16:57

i’m due saturday but no signs yet! this is my third baby, my first was 5 weeks early and my second was born on his due date - so this one will probably be overdue! good luck! and hopefully you’ll meet your little one very soon!

Theweasleytwins · 08/11/2018 16:58

I was due on the 6th, no sign yet

Pickles31 · 08/11/2018 17:42

@theweasleytwins have u tried anything to help move baby along? Ie hot curry or raspberry leaf tea? I haven’t tried anything yet but I might tomorrow

Not yet because i hate spicy food😅
Lots of walking and cleaning though

Chester1980 · 08/11/2018 20:27

Due last weekend with my first and still no sign! I’ve been on the raspberry leaf tea for about a month now. Built it up to three cups a day. Been trying pineapple to no avail....I think you’re meant to eat tonnes to have any effect. Bouncing on the ball too.

Cottage pie has been our batch cooking of choice too 🙂. Tomorrow I’ll make some chilli as I don’t think this one is coming tonight.

All the best with your final days of pregnancy 🙂. Exciting times!

Pickles31 · 08/11/2018 20:52

@chester1980 gosh I hope ur little one makes an appearance soon then, hmm il try the tea and walking tomorrow :) I’m debating making a slow cooker meal batch tomorow if I have time and if there is enough room in the freezer that is 😊 I may even try a hot curry for tea if he hasn’t arrived by the weekend. Good luck to u too 👍🏻

Haven't passed due date yet but 5 days til mine! Also wondering what people are doing

Have been on the raspberry leaf tablets, evening primrose and clary sage (all from the right times) so I best have the softest cervix going when it comes to it!! 😂 also read that it's something like 6-8 whole pineapples ?!

Queenofhearts3 · 08/11/2018 21:06

I’m due on Tuesday so still a few days off yet but no signs of anything happening here either!! Trying to keep busy and not think about it but it’s hard! Have also been doing lots of batch cooking!! Can’t fit anything else in the freezer!

sunshineandshowers21 · 08/11/2018 21:11

when my friend was overdue she spent an entire evening bouncing on a birthing ball whilst stimulating her nipples (in 15 minute bursts with breaks between was what was recommended) and she had her baby by the following lunchtime. i will definitely be following in her footsteps sunday night if this little lady isn’t here by then!

TheVeryHungryTortoise · 08/11/2018 21:45

I was due on 6th Nov. No sign of little one yet and I'm feeling really disappointed about it all.

I had the sweep on my due date and was 2cm dilated, had a lot of achy/period crampiness all that night and then...nothing. I'm so fed up with well meaning family and friends asking if he's arrived yet!

I feel like I've tried all the silly old wives tales too: sex, pineapples, raspberry leaf tea, spicy curries, lots and lots of walking, nipple stimulation. I just want to go into labour so that I can stop compulsively cleaning the house (DP official thinks that I've gone mad!)

Good luck to you all!! Flowers

Pickles31 · 09/11/2018 06:49

@theveryhungrytortoise sorry to hear your little one hasn’t arrived yet, I know what u mean about the cleaning I’m the same at the moment. I have woke up this morning with lower back pain so I’m hoping there might be something happening today (wishful thinking no doubt). Best of luck that today is the day for you too Smile

Morning, I’m due on Sunday too with my first. Funnily enough I batch cooked cottage pie and have driven my poor husband mad deep cleaning the house!
The sweep hasn’t seemingly done anything for me and I’m due to get induced Sunday evening..... which I’m trying to avoid by walking and having hot food. Really hoping that I start labour naturally by Sunday but starting to admit defeat...

stepbystepdoula · 09/11/2018 07:05

Stay active, spending time in all 4s, hands and knees can help. Relax and enjoy this last few days with your baby. Good luck 💚

magpie24 · 09/11/2018 10:15

Hello! I was due on the 6th and no sign yet. A few achy period type pains but nothing else yet. This is my first and I'm quite bored on mat leave - have already filled the freezer and cleaned everything. Anyone have ant suggestions?

MemoryOfSleep · 09/11/2018 10:25

Ooh, bless you! Good luck with it.

Pickles31 · 09/11/2018 22:34

@magpie24 I’m still waiting for my baby to make an appearance, I’m also bored now of house cleaning and making lots of meals. Really really hope he appears tomorrow as I can’t bear to wait another week Confused

Any updates? I had a sweep today and the MW said I'm 1cm... but still a long way to go! Hoping that in the next few days baby will want to come out Grin

Pickles31 · 10/11/2018 13:33

@elizabeth2019 no sign of him yet, 2 days late now, I’m cooking a hot madras for tea to try and coax him out :) I have a midwife appt booked in for Tuesday for a sweep if he hasn’t appeared by then, really hoping he does arrive soon tho. Might go for an autumnal walk later this afternoon with hubby.

Queenofhearts3 · 10/11/2018 13:48

How did you find the sweep elizabeth I’ve heard such mixed things about them I’m not sure whether to have one or not Confused

Tink88 · 10/11/2018 15:22

I was due the 3rd 😕

magpie24 · 10/11/2018 15:26

So far have had a sweep (nothing happened), been on two walks a day, had pineapple and sex and still nothing! Everyone is harassing me about my due date as well over WhatsApp also... Today I am 40+4. Anyone had any movement?

Elizabeth2019 · 10/11/2018 15:50

The sweep was uncomfortable but pretty much the same feeling I get with a smear, it's not painful. We ended up going for lunch in my favourite restaurant afterwards as I'm due to be induced tomorrow - although I'm aware it can still take several days Confused Just wishing I go in to labour tonight without the pessary or drip !

magpie24 · 10/11/2018 19:43

Queenofhearts - my sweep was absolutely fine and I found it much better than a smear test

sunshineandshowers21 · 11/11/2018 13:42

good luck to everyone still waiting! my little girl made her appearance at 04.17am this morning. currently waiting to be discharged so i can take her home to meet her big brothers Smile
