Low PAPP A and High Risk of DS

Hi All,

So I received a letter yesterday advising I have low PAPP A and a 1 in 5 chance of the baby having Downs Syndrome, this was a huge shock to us as the NPtest had shown 2.6...

Firstly I am baffled as to why i am in the High Risk category but also very scared! We have a Harmony test booked for Saturday and we will see what comes of it. I really don't want any of the invasive tests but I can't help but feel even if the Harmony comes back clear (which I hope it does!) will that settle my worry?!

I really really hope the tests come back clear and we can relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy, it will just be a long wait for the results.

Hi ,
I also had the news from hospital on Tuesday (20/11/18)
Got to wait till next week now , I hate the limbo of it all .
Really hope you got a clear result.
Will be watching for your results
🤞🏽

Hi

I was told I had a low pap a at my 12 week scan and was told to take an aspirin every day and that I would have to have regular growth scans from 28 weeks. I'm allergic to aspirin so the midwife told me not to take anything. Which I was really worried about but had a lovely senior midwife call me to basically say low Pap A is rarely a problem.

I'm 21+4 now and have normal growth at my 20 week scan. Due to some family history I had another scan at Great Ormond Street and again thankfully all looks fine.

Hope your tests go well xx

Hi Ladies thank you for the messages! We got the Harmony test and it came back within the week which I was soooo happy about and it was all clear! Baby tested less then 1 in 10,000 chance of having anything which was a huge relief. xx

@Jenna2010 if the people have a facebook page try contact them on there, I have little patience and was told at the app 8-10 working days so I had contacted them asking if I could have a rough date to expect them and they contacted the lab that day for me and got the results 2 days later. Fingers crossed for you! xxx

I had this, serial growth scans and ended up induced for large for gestational age at 38+2... DS is long rather than wide but I wouldn't have wanted to wait any longer as his head was on the 95th centile
