Anyone else having it soon?

Mine is this week and I’m excited but also a bit nervous as they’ll run through development of the baby etc I believe!

I’m low risk so far so really hoping it all goes well!

Anyone else in the same boat?!

Excited to see the baby too.

Did anyone find out the sex of the baby but kept it to yourself so it’s a surprise for everyone else still? I’m tempted to find out but hubby wants to keep it a surprise so I said I just won’t tell him haha!

I've only just found out so I'm having my 8 week check up soon, even though I will be 10 weeks by thenHmmbut congrats and good luck - hope everything goes well! I definitely want to find out what I'm having and wouldn't be able to keep it a secret at all!

Got mine in a week 🙂 started to feel baby move the last couple of weeks so that’s been very reassuring (had a loss at 16wks earlier this year) still quite nervous though but excited to see baby again.
I can’t decide whether to find out the sex or not, we didn’t with DS but my husband is really keen to know this time 🙂
Good luck with your scan, you’re getting to the good bit of pregnancy now hopefully where the sickness and fatigue starts to get better and you’re not yet sore carrying a big bump about so enjoy! 😀

@meangirls1 congratulations! how is first trimester treating you so far? hope it’s going ok! it’ll be challenging to keep to myself no doubt but I think it’ll help the bonding process too! I really want a girl but will be happy either way long as baby is healthy. what do you want?

@silverbythesea so sorry for your loss but congratulations on baby

Thank you lovely! It's been tough, I constantly feel sick but aren't being sick so it never goes awaySadfrom the moment I wake up until I go to sleep, which I very hard at work! I've already had 2 days off! I really want a boy first and then a little girl, but I also want a little girl so badly, so I'm not fussed at all which I think is nice! Have you got any names you like yet?

SilverbytheSea · 07/11/2018 21:14

Hot water bottles and gentle exercise (walks/yoga that sort of thing) and also bouncing on a birth ball were the only things that really soothed pains, felt them a lot late on last time but they were bearable for the most part so fingers crossed for the same this time.
I was quite happy not finding out the sex last time although it was weird at my antenatal group as everyone else had made a big deal out of “gender reveals”, this time I think I am more inclined to find out the sex
purely for practical reasons as I have hoarded lots of DS’s old clothes and im running out of space to store any more so if it’s a girl I can make a big trip to the baby bank and make some space lol.
Im glad you’ve had a fairly easy going pregnancy so far, it does make such a difference 🙂

@MeanGirls1 hope you start to feel better soon

We found out, but have told the world that we didn't find out. I wanted to keep it a secret, but knew that would be impossible if people knew that we knew iyswim. I don't think I would have managed to keep it a secret from dh though, it's been hard enough not telling friends, but I do love having our secret.

I had mine a couple of weeks ago and it was lovely! Found out the sex - we had intended to keep it to ourselves but were so excited I've ended up telling everyone its a girl (we already have a little boy)!

They basically have a list of things they need to check and measurements they need to get. You will get a report with all the measurements plotted on little lines to see where they are in relation to "average". This means it can take a little while and you may need to jiggle around to get the baby to move into a better position to the sonographer can see everything they need to!

Its a truly lovely experience though, enjoy it!!!

I have my 20 Week Scan on Tuesday! The usual nerves before hand but looking forward to being halfway through! Hope yours goes well! 😀

Shk38 · 09/11/2018 06:42

I have mine at 9 am today. Excited and nervous at the same time. I've had an anxiety filled pregnancy so far, so feeling quite proud of myself for not being in tears yet! When's your scan snoopy18

snoopy18 · 09/11/2018 19:14

@Shk38 it was today afternoon! How did yours go? Hope it went well :) Mine went well, such a huge relief for now! Everything is looking like it should be :)

@monkeytoucher @mumofmunchkin we didn’t end up finding out - she didn’t ask us and I kind of forgot to mention it whilst anticipating the proper checks being done - oops! Plan to have a private scan done around 30 or so weeks so I think I’m going to ask then Grin

All went pretty well thanks. Due to family history we had a fetal Consultant do the scan. She's referred us to great ormond street for extra scans but more as a precaution just glad to have the extra scans!

snoopy18 · 10/11/2018 16:47

@shk38 that’s great news so glad it went well for you also Grin
