I'm 14dpo today and 3 days until my expected period and still no positive... starting too loose hope, just wondering how long it took others to find out they were pregnant?

10dpo usually.

Celebelly · 07/11/2018 18:26

10dpo for me. I was tracking ovulation so I knew the dates were right, though.

zaralouise · 07/11/2018 18:29

@Celebelly I haven't tracked my ovulation, according to my app I am currently 14dpo and expecting my period in 3 days, I thought if I was pregnant I would've got a positive by now x

Hmm, 17 days between ovulation and period is on the longer side. Apps aren't always accurate –I'd suspect it's more likely that you ovulated a few days later than it says and are only maybe 11/12dpo.

zaralouise · 07/11/2018 18:48

@Celebelly it's hard for me to track my periods as they're very irregular, always have been and I don't use ovulation tests x

Got a BTP 13dpo this time round

Celebelly · 07/11/2018 18:52

Mine have always been always irregular too, and irregular periods don't really play nicely with the apps as they tend to assume regular cycles. I ended up using ovulation tests and taking my temperature each morning to pinpoint ovulation.

You can go off other things too that don't require any external stuff, like checking your cervical mucus (when you have discharge like egg whites, clear and really stretchy, that's when you're fertile and approaching ovulation) if you didn't want to use tests or temping.

zaralouise · 07/11/2018 18:59

@Celebelly okay thank you x

DS - 14dpo (day period due), didn't get a hint of a line before that.

DC2 - 7dpo

SilverbytheSea · 07/11/2018 19:02

With my first 2 pregnancies I didn’t get a positive until nearly 2/3 weeks after my period was due, 3rd was a week after period was due and 4th was the day my period was due

ifancyachinese · 07/11/2018 19:13

9dpo a could be line. 10dpo no mistake but hoot cycles sound longer than mine x

ifancyachinese · 07/11/2018 19:13

Starheart · 07/11/2018 19:25

Roughy 13dpo based on peak reading when tracking ovulation.

zaralouise · 07/11/2018 19:25

@ifancyachinese if my app is correct which it should be cuz it's going off when my period last month was, my cycle is roughly 28 days give or take x

OP posts:
ifancyachinese · 07/11/2018 19:28

Ah ok, in that case mine are also 28 and as I said I had a barely anything at 9 but a strong positive at 10 on 3 different branded tests! Bit ott with the testing.

I would expect a line at 14dpo but then I have friends who didn't get a positive until 6 weeks! It's not over until af arrives!

Soiree · 07/11/2018 19:54

10 dpo on a 26 day cycle

Mikewazowskismrs · 07/11/2018 20:00

Got mine 10 dpo. 28 day cycle

Cloudsurfing · 08/11/2018 20:06

I was wondering about this. My AF is around 5 days late, I have had very mild cramping on and off for the last week like I'm about to start but haven't and I'm more tired than usual. I took a test yesterday but it was negative.

Some people on here are saying they didn't get a positive until after their period was due, is it at all possible I am pregnant?
I have no other explanation for missing period, but I thought a test would be positive by now?

zaralouise · 08/11/2018 21:29

I thought there was a chance I could be pregnant, took so many tests and they were all negative, I knew that most people found out by at least 14dpo latest so as soon as it came back negative then I got a bit dissapointed, woke up this morning (15dpo) and got a brown coloured discharge and a few cramps, so I know AF is on the way, I'm due in 2 days and I know I'm definitely gonna get it so I know I'm not pregnant! However there are people who don't find out until they're like 6 weeks pregnant, it depends on how high the level of hcG is because it's different in every woman, some women naturally have lower levels I've heard so they haven't found out until late but I'm not too sure x
