Hi guys, I don't know if this is in the right place and aware it's probably a pretty silly thing to ask about but I went for my early dating scan today and an ovarian cyst was found. The sonographer didn't see too worried. I darent google it as it'll probably tell me i died 10 years ago.
Is it something I should be worried about?

Lino's. Thousands of women have them and they generally go on their own.

Thank you! She didn't really have much to say on it so I presumed it probably isn't anything to worry about but I suffer from anxiety as it is and the smallest thing has me ill from overthinking it

I had one with my first. It was there on my 12 weeks scan, bit gone by the 20 week one :)

They discovered I had a 10cm cyst when I was having my second c section!! Had it removed there and then, but it hadn’t caused any problems and wasn’t noticed during my first section, even though the nurse/midwife with me in theatre said that I’d probably had it for years. I wouldn’t worry.

I'm 28 weeks pregnant now and have a cyst over 5cm. I have a scan booked at 36 weeks to check it doesn't need removing but I'd say nothing to worry about unless they expressed concern! Many cysts just come and go without you even realising. As the pregnancy progresses, it'll likely disperse on its ownSmile

the sonographer at my scan said i had some on my first scan and they were gone by the second. i think most women get ones that come and go. dont worry about it.

It's fine. I had one too, there are corpus luteal cysts anyway so may be that but if a different type it may burst or you can have it removed if necessary after pregnancy but ask then obstetrician anyway

Mine was huge though so I had to have it removed as soon as they realised how huge it was - but I'd unfortunately had a miscarriage anyway (unrelated to cyst)
