7 weeks and spotting?

I’m having a complete panic. It took a year to conceive my last pregnancy which ended at 13 weeks in a miscarriage, and a year to conceive this one, and now I’ve got spotting and mild cramping.

I’m going to lose this one too, I just know it, but I’m so desperate not to. We won’t try again if I do, I can’t spend another year TTC to meet this pain again, last miscarriage I was very ill and hospitalised for a week.

Epu have nothing until Thursday,

Here for a hand hold.

I've been there twice - one was a silent miscarriage and the other, so far so good (only at 11 weeks though so not counting any chickens) - so I know how you feel.

If there's nothing at the EPU until Thurs could you go for a private scan tomorrow? If not try and find something to take your mind off it.

Prepare yourself that there might not be conclusive answers on Thurs - first time round I had to go back two weeks later for a re-scan, this time round I had to go back a week later for a re-scan.

The midwife this time round told me every pregnancy is different...try and hold on to that.

Sorry, I know it's scary. I spotted every day from 5.5 weeks to 11 weeks, I'm now at 13 weeks after a positive 12 week scan. It's very very normal to spot, things get more vascular down there when you're pregnant and it's easy to bleed from normal activities - mine was always worse after exercise. I think the general advice is that unless it's red and very heavy (enough to soak a pad) you're doing ok. Cramping also very normal as your uterus grows and adjusts. Go to the scan of course, but try to not to worry - it won't change anything either way.

Thanks ladies. I’ve had more spotting and now very sore cramping. Oh god. That will make nearly three years, two miscarriages and a v early loss, and still no baby,

This 8a hell. I wish they could scan me today, I’m now pin a right state as my morning sickness has gone today too.

I know this is scary, particularly given your back story, but you don't know that you're going to have a miscarriage and what you're describing could very likely be nothing - I had what you had and all was ok, and the same is true for literally thousands of other women. You can't change the result either way so please just rest and try to take your mind off it xx

Noodella18 · 12/11/2018 11:00

@llanali How did the scan go?

GlitterRollerSkate · 12/11/2018 11:03

I hope you had some good news. I started spotting at about 6 weeks and cramping. Things turned out fine. I hope the same for you x

Llanali · 12/11/2018 16:06

I had a scan last Thursday, they could see a gestational sac but nothing else. Hcg bloods were high at 26,000.

In limbo until next Thursday for re scan, to see if there’s a baby or I need surgical management of miscarriage. Again.

No further spotting or bleeding, some slight brown discharge Sunday morning on waking.

Thanks for asking. I’m so lost and vomiting non stop with awful morning sickness.

@llanali well those are all good signs right? How many weeks are you? If it was an early scan it's totally feasible that there wouldn't be anything in the sac yet. Sorry morning sickness is so bad, it's shit isn't it? I'm at 14 weeks and hoped it would have gone away by now. Good luck for Thursday, please do report back.

SSRainbow · 12/11/2018 18:21

Sorry to hear you’re going through this. In my case I started spotting at seven
Weeks, more at 9, 10 and most recently a couple of days ago - I had a scan today and am 13 weeks, so just to reassure you that sometimes it’s ok. Have you been bleeding more or has it eased off a bit?

Llanali · 12/11/2018 18:52

Thanks ladies, no more bleeding since, thank god.

Yes they are @Noodella18 except with an hcg that high, you’d expect to see more than a sac,,,,.i was 7 weeks at scan so 7&4 today, but I have variable cycles and I think looking back im more like 6&4 today so 6 week’s bang on one scan day last Thursday.

God knows. I’m trying to distract myself but easier said than done.

Well not necessarily @llanali , 6 weeks is SO early, 7 is early too for your next scan. Was that an internal scan? If not, I would ask for an internal one next time. Good luck!

ezeria · 13/11/2018 14:14

I had a fairly heavy bleed and cramping at around 5 weeks with my pregnancy and I now have a healthy baby boy. Good luck OP xx

Llanali · 13/11/2018 16:15

Thanks ezeria, glad it was a good outcome for you.
Yes, internal scan last time and I expect again this time. Done in the EPU by a sonographer I’ve met before. Two days to go and hopefully some positives....
