Hi all,

I’m just about to stock up on formula and was planning on using the Aldi Mamia powder, but I haven’t been able to pop in and check the ingredients just yet, does anyone know if it contains fish oil?

If so, any recommendations for vegetarian formulas? Really struggling to find one!

Kendamil apparently has no fish oil

Ooh, thank you! Having had a look that seems like it might be a good bet, and made relatively locally to me too which is a bonus.

Shocked at how few choices there are though!

As far as I am aware kendamil is the only dairy based formula that is vegetarian. Nanny care is vegetarian too. Some of the soya based ones are vegan, but not all and I wouldn't give soya based formula unless absolutely necessary.

I personally wouldn't stock up - the formula you choose might not agree with the baby. One tub will last more than a week at the beginning. Whatever you pick make sure you can get it easily.

Very good point, I’m just in fear of running out and being left without any! Unfortunately we can’t get hold of it easily as ot’s not sold anywhere close to us, so it’s at least an Asda delivery away really. I was going to buy a couple of tins but may heed your advice and just place an order a few days in if it seems to be agreeing with her!

I always have one tub on the go, and one in the cupboard. Once we found it was ok for DD I was tempted to stock up but decided against it as things can change. I find the spare one in the cupboard is my security blanket in case I can't get out to get more.

yeah don't stock up :D i bought 1 tub of formula milk and baby puked up every bottle, switched to 3 different formulas before i found out he is allergic to milk protein.
