Would anyone like to rant with me about how much early pregnancy sucks?

I am so grateful to be pregnant, I really am. I can't wait to meet this baby and it is 100% loved... but my god I hate early pregnancy.

I am 9+5, have been nauseous and fainty since bfp, I have had thrush twice, now possibly have a uti. I have put on far too much weight already due to existing on carbs. I'm tired, spotty, greasy, hormonal and generally feel fucking shit. I am nervous all the time whether the baby is ok, and time is moving so so slowly. I am also worrying about my dd (5) and how much the pregnancy is impacting on her already and trying constantly to keep normality for her. I'm just exhausted and being a shit wife to dh to boot. I look fat not pregnant and really don't like what I see at the minute.

I just want to skip to the bit in the middle when I feel more human and start to feel baby move. I loved that bit with dd.

If you are having a rough 1st trimester, feel free to let it all out. I will not judge.

@pinupkeza you poor thing, I don't envy you one bit and will try and be grateful that it's just tiredness and feeling sick I am experiencing! But congratulations on your pregnancy all the same!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 16/11/2018 08:22

@pinupkeza sounds like you’re having a really rough time of it Sad

I can empathise with the boobs and the mood swings. I must’ve been really horrible because DP asked me if I still loved him this morning. Whoops.

Pinupkeza · 16/11/2018 10:32

Thankyou ladies, things we do lol, I'm sure all will work out fine and things get better soon xxx

Can anyone shed some light on their sex life in pregnancy? We haven't had sex since we've found out. Due to me thinking it'll hurt or I'll miscarry :(

Stormwhale · 16/11/2018 12:30

Mine is non existent Delilah. Between horrific nausea, utis, thrush, and my weight gain, spotty face and greasy hair making me feel seriously gross it is just seriously not on the agenda. Thank goodness dh is completely understanding as if he pestered me I would chuck him out right now I think.

Delilah7 · 16/11/2018 12:33

@Stormwhale my other half is very understanding but he does have a high sex drive so I'm worried it'll effect him. That's his love language 😂

TwittleBee · 16/11/2018 12:36

oh bless you Delilah7 ! I think it is normal to feel like that, well at least common. I've only had sex with DH once since we found out and struggling to bring myself to do it again tbh due to similar thoughts to you plus exhaustion (i'm in bed most nights by 8.30) . Just to warn you, I do recall by 2nd trimester sex life went through the roof but after we had sex, each time, I would bleed. MWs were always happy to check me out (really decent MW team here actually) but they did say its so common that sex does this and its just where there is more blood in the vessels down there and they are easier to pop but it really isnt anything to worry about.

Delilah7 · 16/11/2018 13:19

@TwittleBee I'm honestly just so scared to bleed or see any blood at the minute x

AuntMarch · 16/11/2018 17:59

The last couple of weeks the only thing I'm going to bed for is sleep. Can't get enough of it.
Pretty sure any such movement would tip me over the edge and actually have me vomming anyway. Even the thought of kissing makes me heave a little bit!!

nic01234 · 16/11/2018 18:22

This message thread is literally the only thing keeping me going at the moment! Thank you ladies for sharing your stories and making me realise i'm not alone in this!!!

Currently 13+2, have been feeling revolting since 6w... when is it supposed to get better?!!!!!

Stormwhale · 16/11/2018 19:02

@nic01234 - I'm so glad it is bringing you some comfort. It is so damn hard, and it goes on for so so long. Why can't we be like rabbits and pop out our babies in a few weeks?

Diane0313 · 16/11/2018 19:18

Yes I am 8 weeks on Monday and since I found out I am always feeling sick I cannot eat cause I'm scared I'm going to be sick I feel like rubbish all the time I perfume to be sick that feel it all the time, I have tried ginger biscuits, not worked I was not like this with my other 2, and never feel hungry Envy is anyone else having this

Diane0313 · 16/11/2018 19:20

Don't worry hun I got a belly aswell it's very swollen and so are my feet your not on your own

AuntMarch · 16/11/2018 19:22

I feel sick all the time but am the opposite in that I can't stop eating! But only carbs carbs and more carbs. It settles the nausea down. For about half an hour. Then I want to eat again! I lost a decent amount of weight since last year before "not trying not to conceive" and while I knew and have no issue with putting weight on for the sake of my baby, at this rate I'll be back where I was in the beginning!

Stormwhale · 16/11/2018 20:46

Tonight I have had a half laughing half crying meltdown to dh about how unfair it is that I'm at the end of the first trimester and I feel shocking again. He gave me sympathy and laughed with me over the ridiculousness of the fucking "glow" us pregnant women are supposed to have. I feel a bit better. He is a good husband. SPD is kicking in badly already, which is not a good sign of things to come.

@Auntmarch - I am exactly the same. I used to be a size 20, got down to a size 10. My weight had crept up slightly from 9stone4 to 9 stone 7 when I found out I was pregnant. I'm nearly 12 weeks and I'm over 10 stone already. I'm trying not to freak out as like you eating was the only way to survive the nausea, but it doesn't feel great.

OP posts:
AuntMarch · 16/11/2018 20:50

Someone please tell me it stops soon! Although if you are nearly 12... I'm only nearly 8.... I'm off to cry into a packet of digestives!

Tadda · 18/11/2018 18:41

....Can I just add a mini rant that late pregnancy also sucks.....!

AuntMarch · 18/11/2018 19:11

Noooooo don't tell us that we need hope at this point lol

Tadda · 18/11/2018 19:45

@auntmarch lol! Ok...it gets so much better!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 18/11/2018 19:52

I’ve had a bleed, backache and cramps today. Not looking good ladies. So cruel after reaching the elusive 12 weeks Sad

Stormwhale · 18/11/2018 21:10

@Iswallowtoothpaste - oh no Sad are you being seen at the epu or something? Fingers crossed it is just a blip and baby is ok. Lots of women have bleeds and the baby survives. Everything crossed for you. Flowers

jacquejacque · 18/11/2018 21:21
