Dating scan next week - anyone else?

I've got my dating scan at 11+4 next Tuesday. Read so many threads about people who found out they had a mmc that I'm really nervous about it!

Anyone else got theirs next week? How are you feeling about it?

All these posts are making me excited/nervous for tomorrow!

mellongoose · 06/11/2018 15:37

Due 21st May. One day earlier than I thought. Nuchal measurement low but obvs need to wait for them to assess bloods etc to be sure.

Feeling happier now. Any guesses for girl or boy?!

@Lauren83, glad yours went well! I had a reassurance scan at 5+6 and they told me I was only 5 weeks which left me all worried it wasn't growing properly! Was told today that they do no measurements at NHS reassurance scans so just guess a date?? Hope your next scan also goes well and that this baby sticks!! :)

@mellongoose congratulations!! Your pics are so much clearer than mine!! My due date is also 21st May - lol would be funny if we delivered on the same day!!

How do you know about the nuchal measurement/what is that? They didn't tell me anything at my scan. Just that they'd call me next week if there were any issues :S

@mellongoose, I guess girl but then most early babies look like girls to me!

I'm old so I asked for/was offered the screening for Downs etc. They take a measurement of fluid at the back of baby's neck.

Lauren83 · 06/11/2018 16:22

@artemis2 Thanks so much! They measured CRL at 3.2mm which is where I expected to be dates wise. I had DS in Jan from donor egg IVF so this pregnancy is a huge surprise as you can imagine, you feel great after a scan don't you and then the worry kicks in again after a while

artemis2 · 06/11/2018 18:15

@mellongoose, I opted for the Downs/etc screening too - they took measurements and I had a blood test, but they didn't tell me anything :/

Wish they had so I'd know! They kept complaining baby wasn't in a good position and making me cough, so I hope that didn't affect the measuring!

Best of luck with the rest of your results!

I just looked at the report they gave me, and it says the nuchal measurement is 1.4mm. What does that mean???

OP posts:
mellongoose · 06/11/2018 18:24

Mine was 1.4mm as well. They said that was low. I think if you get above 2mm they start to get concerned, but I might be wrong!!

Russell19 · 06/11/2018 18:26

I believe 1.3mm-2.9mm is normal.... not an expert but says here

artemis2 · 06/11/2018 18:54

Thanks ladies! Phew, thought low was bad for a minute. Guess we just wait a week to hear about bloods :)

OP posts:
HalfBloodPrincess · 06/11/2018 19:13

Mine was 0.98mm and the sonographer said it was fine. It’s only over 3.5mm that is a cause for concern.

Russell19 · 07/11/2018 19:26

How did everyone get on? Mine is tomorrow and feeling sick with nerves.....or is it just morning sickness? Grin

momoa80 · 07/11/2018 19:41

I just posted but it's disappeared. I had my scan yesterday baby was very active, and wiggly. Sadly my nuchal measurement was 3.5mm so ushered into a private room where they said I have a 30% chance of baby having something serious wrong. So I'm now waiting on my bloods back tomorrow...Fingers crossed.

Amolly · 07/11/2018 19:54

Had mine this afternoon. Due date brought forward by 4 days, 17th may :) all looked ok but my little dancer wouldn't pose for a picture.

@momoa80 I hope all come back ok from you bloods Flowers fingers crossed for you

Mine is next Monday, which is 12+3 according to lmp dates. But I had an early reassurance scan and they put me 11 days behind that. The Nhs wanted to do it to their schedule though and then potentially rescan the following week if they agree I’m earlier on. Saw the heartbeat at the reassurance scan but still anxious to see that things are still ok.

momoa80 · 07/11/2018 20:13

Thanks @amolly Flowers

Starsandthemoonx · 07/11/2018 21:41

I have mine this Monday, I feel nervous as always but I had an early scan at 5 weeks then 7 so hoping all should be good I think we are just naturally worries. Hope everything will be okay for you! I will be 11+1

KateTTC123 · 08/11/2018 11:06

For some reason my picture won't load but we had our scan yesterday and saw a happy, healthy, wriggly baby :)

KateTTC123 · 08/11/2018 11:09

@amolly i remember you from the conception board! I'm due May 16th; 6 days earlier than I thought and only a day before you :)

Lorrie3 · 08/11/2018 14:07

Mine is tomorrow and I’m so nervous it’s going to be bad news! Trying to be positive but it’s hard so wasn’t prepared for this feeling

JamieLeighC · 08/11/2018 15:00

I have mine on Wednesday and think I'll be right on 12 weeks.

I don't think all the adverts around help at the minute to be honest.

I know they're trying to raise awareness and everything but I can't help but feel like all the Instagram, facebook, twitter adverts about mc's and baby loss awareness week and what have you absolutely terrify women in the early stages of pregnancies.

I'm aware it happens more often than we'd like to think it does but in the early stages you worry enough as it is I feel like we could do without the added concern from it being in our faces all the time.

Russell19 · 09/11/2018 10:33

Hi, just to update you all, I had the most amazing experience at my scan! All ok. Look at that nose!!!!

Just as a side note I have referred to one2one midwives (I did this straight away). If anyone is within the area of service I would 100% recommend, they are amazing!

Glad to hear you had a similar experience @Russel19 I would agree with describing it as amazing!

Amolly · 10/11/2018 16:40
