I haven't had a braxton hick yet, is this normal? I hope this doesn't mean I'm going to go well overdue?

I never had one either, planned section at 38 weeks without ever feeling an inkling of a contraction!
I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about and doesn’t mean anything!

balalalala · 01/11/2018 21:16

I don't remember ever having them with my first and she was born at 39+5. Currently 35+3 and no bh yet!

SoyDora · 01/11/2018 21:18

I’m on baby number 3 and have never had one! Well not that I’ve noticed anyway, apparently everyone gets them but not everyone feels/notices them. So I wouldn’t worry!

NotSoThinLizzy · 01/11/2018 21:24

I was having them but didn't feel them only knew as was hooked up to a moniter. She was born 39+6. My 2nd I felt them near the end he was 39+3

bassackwards · 01/11/2018 21:25

Never had them either even when I got to 2 weeks overdue.

fizzytonicplease · 01/11/2018 21:33

I never had them and had DS at 37+5.

TheDayMyButtWentPsycho · 01/11/2018 21:45

You have. You just haven't noticed them.

They happen all the time. Even at 4 weeks pregnant.

Eeeeek2 · 01/11/2018 21:48

Didn't notice any with ds, born 40+6
Loads with this one currently 37 weeks

LBNM19 · 01/11/2018 23:03

I'm 36 weeks with baby number 4 and I haven't either. I didn't get them with any of my pregnancys. X

Scubalubs87 · 01/11/2018 23:09

Also never had/felt them and I went into labour early at 39+2 and had my little boy in the early hours of the next day.

Placebogirl · 01/11/2018 23:13

I thought I wasn't having them. Then I ended up on a monitor for reduced fetal movement (baby was fine, and is now a boisterous 6 year old), and they showed me the contractions. I'd been having them for months, and just thought it was the baby moving in a weird and uncomfortable way.

Pigeoncat · 02/11/2018 01:13

A lot of people don’t have them/ don’t feel them.

I am unfortunately not in that camp. 36 weeks and every bloody day.

Eminybob · 02/11/2018 02:09

I never felt them at all with ds1 and he came at 37+4.

I’ve been getting them regularly and strongly for a few weeks now with this one. I’m hoping this means something but I’m not convinced. I’m 37 weeks on Saturday and I would be quite happy if he comes then. Not least because I’m booked in for an induction at 40 weeks which I desperately want to avoid.

BlessedMamma · 03/11/2018 17:47

I never had any BH with my first baby and was 4 days overdue. I'm now 37 weeks pregnant with my second and I've been having BH for the last week.
