Does anyone take prescription painkillers other than paracetamol, before getting pregnant I took regular 30/500 cocodamol and dihydracodiene for chronic hip pain 😭 I stopped all painkillers but now it's becoming unbearable! I can't sleep with the pain 😭😭😭😭

I was prescribed co-codamol for severe migraines during my first trimester. Speak to your doctor of course, but many women take codeine during pregnancy. I think the only potential risk with it is that baby may become addicted and withdraw after birth if it's taken towards the end of pregnancy.

If you're in severe pain that isn't good for baby. Ideally we shouldn't take anything when pregnant, but the real world doesn't work like that. Speak to your doctor. Good luck!

I was prescribed co-codamol for pain during pregnancy. Maybe see if your maternity hospital has a pain specialist as gp's are usually quite reluctant to prescribe anything
