Just what the title says really. I’m just wondering how many weeks you all were when you lost your mucus plug and how long after you went into labour?

I’m 36 weeks and there’s no sign of the plug yet.

It plopped out a couple of hours before the contractions started

Caprisunorange · 31/10/2018 19:45

Oops sorry that was at exactly 40 weeks

InfantaSybilla · 31/10/2018 19:45

About 18 hours before dd was born

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 31/10/2018 19:46

Didn't ever see evidence of mine going, with either of my two dc.

DramaAlpaca · 31/10/2018 19:46

Mine went a few hours after the first contractions. DC was born about 12 hours later, at 39+2.

Oopsy41 · 31/10/2018 19:51

I lost mine 3 weeks before

Lauraelizabeth26 · 31/10/2018 19:51

Oh really? That close to the actual big event. I thought that it would come away a week or even two before labour in most cases!

Shows how much I know/ am prepared for labour Grin

Sometimes it comes out slowly bit by bit

GaraMedouar · 31/10/2018 19:54

I've had 3 babies. Never noticed a mucus plug to be honest!

franhat · 31/10/2018 20:00

Never noticed with DD1. DD2 was 6 days early. Plug lost at 6.30 am, she was born less than 4 hours later.

itsjustmebeingme · 31/10/2018 20:01

3 weeks

katienana · 31/10/2018 20:03

Came out at 40 weeks on a Saturday night, went into labour on the Tuesday.

MumOfDiamonds · 31/10/2018 20:04

My mucus plug with DD10 came away actually on my due date which was a Saturday morning. She was born on the Monday morning.

I didn't lose a plug with my DS14 and he was born 40+7.

LemonMousse · 31/10/2018 20:06

I've had 3 children and can say I never saw a mucus plug with any of them.

differentkindofpenguin · 31/10/2018 20:08

Less than an hour before baby was born, both times. While in actual labour. But then my waters don't go til less than an hour to go too!

BertramKibbler · 31/10/2018 20:08

Lost mine at 39+2, gave birth 10 hours later.

mickeymacca · 31/10/2018 20:11

Only noticed with my second and that was about 18 hours before I gave birth

TattooUndo · 31/10/2018 20:11

Dd - started losing mucous plug on the Saturday, mild contractions on the Sunday, and Monday. They then eased off. Contractions again Wednesday afternoon (but very mild - I could sleep through them). Dd born Thursday morning (40+9)

Ds, mucous plug appeared the evening of my due date just before bedtime. Ds born the next day

Shmithecat · 31/10/2018 20:11

My waters broke at 39+6. Had ds 12 hours later. No sign of mucus plug at all.
🤷‍♀️

I was induced at 38 weeks but it failed so was booked in for a section on day 4, my plug went in the afternoon of day 3 so they asked did I want to hang on to see if labour started but had had enough by then so stuck with the section

CallMeOnMyCell · 31/10/2018 20:17

I lost mine just before the transition phase of labour, I only know that as the midwife told me!

Yogagirl123 · 31/10/2018 20:22

2 weeks before DS1 was born.

AvoidingMarking · 31/10/2018 20:27

Gorbie · 31/10/2018 20:28

All different
1st - born at 36 weeks don't remember loosing it if I'm honest!
2nd - born at 39+5 lost it early evening she was born the following evening
3rd - born at 40 weeks lost it early evening, she was born an hour later

sabrinathethirtysomethingwitch · 31/10/2018 20:30

I lost some of mine two weeks before baby came. Lost another lump a week later. It all seemed to come away when my waters broke. Contractions started straight after that.
