We went for our first scan this morning at 9+1 and we were also told we're having twins. I'm in deep shock as the practicalities of having two babies slowly starts to sink in. I knew before the sonographer told us because I could see two babies on the monitor and I had a huge panic attack, crying and saying "I can't do this".

Both babies are okay, thankfully. Hearts beating strongly so that's a comfort.

Apart from contacting TAMBA, what the FUCK do we do now????

Celebrate !

Timeforabiscuit · 31/10/2018 16:17

Wow! Congratulations! That is alot to wrap your head around! Do you have any older kids?

I think just giving yourselves time to let the news settle is probably best for now, still lots of time for planning.

Congratulations, what a shock for you!

You are probably in panic mode as this is unexpected news but just let it sink in and go with it, you'll be fine!

Lots of super advice from TAMBA and on the multiples section of Mumsnet.

Lots of lovely twin fb groups

Are they your first? Mine are

They are absolutely wonderful (obviously biased) and keep each other company

@flapjackfairy - steak and chips for dinner tonight, but getting drunk on J2Os was never a strong point of mine ;)

How lovely!! 😁... You'll settle into a routine once they're here and you'll wonder what all the fuss was about just try and relax and enjoy it.

Congratulations!

I have a twin sister - my mum did a similar freak out when she found out there was two of us, but we’ve been the best of friends since we were toddlers.

One thing that twin Mums often mention is that the babies are very good at occupying each other when a singleton would be looking for attention from a parent out of boredom.

Thanks everyone Flowers

I'm just allowing myself to feel whatever I feel at the moment (good or bad and everything in between). I'll check out the multiples section of Mumsnet shortly.

No @timeforabiscuit we don't have any other children - these two are our first (and last)!

Wonderful news! Congratulations. We liked having twins so much the first time that a year later, we deliberately conceived a second set. ;) Twins are marvelous.

Stormwhale · 31/10/2018 16:22

Just think how close they will be and how they have a ready made playmate without you having to go through pregnancy again with a young child to care for! You will be fine op. Your instincts will kick in and you will manage even if it is tough at first.

OMG I would love twins, congratulations xxx
