Amniotic band

It was mentioned off hand that I have an amniotic band at my 12 week scan.

After googling (of course!) I’m concerned that this is actually quite a serious thing although it could be an amniotic sheet or shelf rather than band, which is something different but seemingly often diagnosed as an amniotic band. I had an ERPC earlier this year which can apparently make an amniotic shelf/sheet more likely.

Has anyone got any experience of this? What were you told? Should I be worried or just wait for 20 week scan?

I had an amniotic band, I had extra scans but then at 36 weeks it was no longer visible. I worried a lot in the interim!

Thank you. I wouldn’t mind the extra scans! I had an anomaly at 20 week scan last time and it turned out to be a bit of a blessing for the extra scans, I felt like it took a bit of the pressure of the last few months because I was being looked after.
Good news yours has gone away.
