When did your bump start to show?

Just that really. DP and I were discussing this the other day, and he was asking me when I'll have a bump (he's also asking why it's taking so long and why baby isn't here yet 🙄😂 - he has 32 weeks to wait!).

I don't know if it makes a difference the size you are when you conceive (I expect very slim women show quite quickly), but I was a size 12-14 when I conceived/now.

I'm 8 weeks.

I've got two girls, with my first i started to show around 23 weeks and my second you couldn't tell i was pregnant until about 27 weeks.
Was so annoying!

beccii161016 · 30/10/2018 21:54

I started getting a slight bump at around 14 weeks with both but I don't seem to get very big bumps when pregnant! I'm sure some would say it's a blessing but it annoys me for some reason haha!

I'm a size 10, 5'3, so not sure if that has anything to do with it but DS was born 6'4, currently pregnant with DD and she is growing along the same line so I think I just make smaller babies!

Celebelly · 30/10/2018 22:01

About 15/16 weeks (first baby). It just popped overnight. Now I'm 25 weeks and definitely look it! I was a size 12/14 but didn't carry much extra weight on my tummy.

TokenGinger · 30/10/2018 22:03

Its amazing how differently we can all show. I'm only very early days but I already feel like my jeans are a tad too tight. But I think that's down to bad diet (I'm only stomaching bread and plain foods right now) than baby.

My 1st pregnancy I was showing at 5months. 2nd I didnt know I was as far along pregnant as I thought and my bump just appeared on my booking in but turned out I was 14weeks. Thought if eaten one too many chocolates

StyleOfTheTimes · 30/10/2018 22:13

I started to show a tiny bump at 12-14 weeks but people are only now asking me if I’m pregnant and I’ve just turned 25 weeks. I guess before people assumed I’d eaten to many cakes or crisps 🤣 I was a size 14 before and I’ve got a long body so I’m carrying pretty central and quite neatly (at the moment!) everyone’s body is different though. My core was pretty strong so I guess that held everything in a bit?

le42 · 30/10/2018 22:18

I was a 10/12 pre-pregnancy with a strong core but for me you could really see from about 14 weeks, I thought it would take longer actually!.... by 20 weeks I looked proper pregnant.. now I'm 28 the growth rate seems to be slowing... but during weeks 20 - 26 I feel like I grew a lot each week!

Anyat212 · 30/10/2018 22:23

I was wondering this too OP!
I’m 16 weeks and I’m not showing I just look a bit bloated. My clothes are becoming tighter particularly jeans/trousers but that’s about it! I’ve had constipation the last few weeks so thought I was a lot bigger particularly at week 14 🙄 but unfortunately it was just the blockage!
(Glamorous I know)

Everyone keeps saying where’s the bump or I bet you’ll be showing soon! And I’m really not, I’m a size 8-10 (5’5) I’m assuming it’s different for every lady maybe?

MrsReader · 30/10/2018 22:27

I'm 13 weeks and look like I've ate a few too many pies but I don't think it's an obvious bump yet. I've always had a big tummy tho

lolacola13 · 30/10/2018 22:27

I'm 5 ft 7 and usually a 8-10 . 16.5 weeks and still not showing if I turn to side I look ever so slightly bloated.. I have crazy short legs for my height so a long torso for baby to hide In. Have already put on 10/11 lb though on account of all the carbs that got me through the constant nausea stage . Currently just looking a little fuller around my hips bum and back with zero bump lol

Dandybelle · 30/10/2018 22:46

With my first pregnancy it was about 20 weeks before I had anything bump like, but I'm not 36+3 with baby 2 and I've had a bump from about 13-14 weeks! I am now a planet.

RachelYC · 30/10/2018 23:30

I’m just coming up to 20 weeks and I only have a small bump (it often seems to be bigger in the evening but then maybe that’s just my tea Grin). My friends who’ve had kids already had just reassured me everyone is different, and them my charming MIL poked me in the tummy today and said “your bump is very small - Megan Markle is showing already!”... I didn’t really know what to say to that, except to point out I’m a size 12 and MM definitely is not... anyway now I’ve been worrying about it again, so it was really timely to see this! Thanks OP! x

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 30/10/2018 23:35

I also think it depends on time of year! In summer clothes I’d definitely be showing to all and sundry (16 weeks with number 3). I can definitely see a bump when I’m in the shower but under big jumpers and coats I honestly reckon I’ll get to 32 weeks before anyone else notices!

BarkerBump · 30/10/2018 23:50

I'm a size 12 (usually) and currently 35+5 with my first. I couldn't fit into my jeans by 12 weeks and I'm so large now that even maternity clothes are on the side of uncomfortable.
Turns out I've been growing a big one and have excess amniotic fluid around the baby (polyhydramnios) too, so that probably has a lot to do with my size.

NorthEndGal · 30/10/2018 23:57

23 weeks with my first
12 weeks with my second

Spargle · 31/10/2018 00:31

I’m six weeks, although it is clear from the outside that I am about 20 weeks! Looking forward to this bloating subsiding!

(I’m definitely looking forward to showing for real.)

Morningsicknessdoone · 31/10/2018 06:19

Hi inam currently 20+1 and I started showing at 7 weeks. I am huge now. The nurse one as a couple of weeks ago thought I was 7 months 😭😭

TokenGinger · 31/10/2018 07:44

I honestly can't believe how different everybody is. I think I'll either end up the size of a planet, or not showing until I'm sure to pop!

Very slim women don't show quickly.

I was 16 weeks with all my babies before I got a bump.
It could have been argued that I had a bump at 14-15 weeks but I didn't feel it was a 'true' bump because I had bloat as well. But by 16 weeks for me the bloat subsided and it was obviously all just bump.

thismeansnothing · 31/10/2018 08:10

With dd1 about 28 weeks and never had a big bump.

Now with dd2 I'm 23 weeks and have the start of one.

Stephisaur · 31/10/2018 08:47

I was a size 16 pre pregnancy, it was around 22 weeks before I properly started to show I think.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 31/10/2018 09:24

I popped out over night at around 16/17 weeks with DD who was my first baby, I was around a size 12 like you too.

CobaltRose96 · 31/10/2018 10:24

I noticed my belly was rounder and harder at about 14 weeks, but I didn't get an undeniably pregnant bump that was noticeable to other people until around 20 weeks.

TwittleBee · 31/10/2018 10:38

I didn't show with Ds till I was 20 weeks, although was certainly bloated before hand. But I didn't properly pop till I was 22 weeks, that was when I certainly had to get maternity clothes.

Twinningsloverbutnotanymore · 31/10/2018 11:50

Size 8 here pre-pregnancy, I have to say I look like I have got a muffin top, I do feel it more towards the end of the day after food and bloating but I would say it's starting to form. I'm 13 weeks now and my belly feels harder if that makes sense but still look like I just ate to many McD's!
