Suddenly not feeling pregnant

We're 9 weeks pregnant, I really suffered from morning sickness being sick all day with anything I ate. Had some light period cramps everyday from since I can remember but the past couple of days I just feel nothing, as if I'm no longer pregnant. I already feel quite anxious (sorry if this is sensitive) due to my sister, she gave birth to my niece and was sent home the next day, unfortunately they had missed that she was really Ill and passed away at 24 days old. I know it wasn't during pregnancy but it makes me anxious that they sent her home and she didn't have any symptoms but was so ill. Anyone got any advice or anything similar, I just want to be able to relax, or go and get checked out if recommended.

Sorry about your Sister that is terrible, if you need re-assurance maybe contact your midwife or EPU. I am 10 weeks and just over a week ago I thought all of my symptoms had disappeared (except my dreams but I have also given up smoking so didn't know if this was due to my nicotine withdrawal) Low and behold this morning my sickness was back with a vengeance. Try not to panic too much, symptoms come and go x

Also very sorry to hear about your sister.

I've found that symptoms have come and gone throughout pregnancy, sometimes nausea and tiredness etc, could be coccyx pain, adversity to smells... but mainly for the last 32 weeks, I've had nothing at all.

I'm sure you're okay, but I do know how this must feel. Can you afford a private reassurance scan whilst you wait for the first NHS one?

Oh gosh, no wonder you're anxious, Flowers for all who've been touched by this tragedy in your family.

But when I read you title I immediately thought to myself, "9-10 weeks!" - that is the exact time my symptoms disappeared with both pregnancies. In fact it's what I used to date my second pregnancy, as I hadn't yet had a scan and wasn't sure of my LMP, and I was right! But like you I was extremely anxious and the first time in particular I worried about it no end. I even did another pregnancy test around that time.

Whilst nothing is ever certain in pregnancy, please do be reassured that this is exactly the time when the placenta starts to take over looking after the pregnancy, so symptoms do often decrease (or even disappear!) for a bit for no sinister reason at all. If I were you I would hold onto that and just keep taking each milestone through pregnancy as it comes. Next up comes the scan!

My symptoms disappeared literally overnight when i got to 8.5 weeks. I'm 13 weeks now and I don't even feel pregnant, except maybe slightly bigger boobs! I contacted my midwife and she said it's very common and not to be concerned unless I experienced cramping and bleeding. I gather it has something to do with placenta development and hormone changes because of this.
I'm now trying to enjoy being well but I completely understand your anxiety as I felt the same.
I'm also really sorry to hear about what your sister experienced x

I'm 9 weeks and my symptoms have disappeared too. Including weight gain. Which has admittedly put me on edge.

I'm sorry to hear what your family have been through xx

It’s probably nothing, and a welcome change to feel well! But if you do have a sudden change in symptoms it’s wise to contact your midwife/triage for advice.

Also sorry to hear about your sisters baby, can’t even imagine Flowers
