Yellow crusty stuff on nipples

So I'm 22 weeks and noticed some yellow crusty stuff on my nipples (I have a pic but unsure if I'm able to post?) Anyway, I've managed to pick some off and it kind of flakes off but now my nipple is a bit itchy and raw feeling? Is this normal?

Sounds like it could be thrush?

Pebblespony · 28/10/2018 23:31

Can't you get some milk coming through sometimes during pregnancy. Could this be it?

MollyHuaCha · 28/10/2018 23:39

Don't post pic. See your GP. It will probably be solved easily with a cream.

NoMudNoLotus · 28/10/2018 23:48

Happened to me and it was milk ... keep an eye on it and if it gets itchy/sore , go see your gp.

I had this. Assumed it was normal! I'm 35 weeks now.

Yes, it's normal. It's drying colostrum. Leave it be.

robindeer · 29/10/2018 00:44

Colostrum. Don't worry OP, it sounds totally normal.

This is NORMAL.. your breasts are preparing to produce milk. What is leaking from your nipples is colostrum and it's the sticky thick first milk. This will leak tiny amounts that dry on your nipples.

Don't pick it off as, as you've learnt, will make your nipples sore.. instead when in the shower or bath, let them soak and wash off gently with a washcloth. But it's also fine to just leave. Xx

Its colostrum. I have it increasingly now I am nearing my due date but it started in second trimester.
