Meal ideas for sickness???

I'm doing my online shop for next week and I don't want to eat anything Sad

I can keep things down, as long as it's bland. Only actually vomiting a couple of times a week.

Ideas please?? Ideally v easy to cook so I'm not lingering over a smelly stove.

Sweet potato chips. Cut sweet potatoes into chips and put them on a lightly-greased baking tray (so they don’t stick). Put salt and pepper on top. Cook until ready at about 180-200C.

Yes, I count this as a meal. They are very nutritious. I’m having mine with roasted tomatoes and salmon, because my body currently promises that I not only can but also must eat them. Will find out if that is the case in 15 minutes (couldn’t do tomatoes yesterday in the end!). But I would have them without if necessary

All I could eat was vanilla ice cream with cinnamon on top and Cheerios for the first trimester. I say eat whatever you can keep down and won't make you gag. It, hopefully, will get better in a few weeks.

dreamyflower · 28/10/2018 17:53

Cheese and crackers?

Amolly · 28/10/2018 18:02

I'm managing plain chicken butties, cheese and crackers, plain cereals and tinned spaghetti with a slice of toast. I feel your pain at the moment. I can't stomach any meats apart from chicken and all my favourite foods are out the window x

Racecardriver · 28/10/2018 18:05

Lemon water (juicy water brand was my favourite) and m&s pitta crisps were all I could eat without feeling sick for a while.

BroomOnTheRoom · 28/10/2018 18:08

Sorry you're feeling so sick

Ice lollies - I liked the lemonade ones
Anything potatoey - Pom bears, hula hoops and squares were best for me
Sparkling elderflower
Vanilla ice cream
Chips
Dairylea triangles

I ate like this for the ENTIRE pregnancy because of hg and Dd is a healthy and robust 2 year old now. Just eat what and when you can.

Hope you feel better soon.

GemmeFatale · 28/10/2018 18:23

I’m on ginger oat biscuits, mini cheddars, the occasional potato or bread product and gallons of fizzy water.

LittleMG · 28/10/2018 19:54

I was able to eat microwave mac n cheese easy and pretty bland. Hope u feel better soon x

Stormwhale · 28/10/2018 19:55

My number one food at the minute is a chip sandwich. It's not healthy, but the carbs really settle my stomach.

LittleMG · 28/10/2018 19:55

Yes! Fizzy water I got a soda stream saved my life!

anonmum22 · 28/10/2018 19:56

Cereal and ice drinks!

Stephisaur · 28/10/2018 20:00

I lived on cereal and sandwiches x

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/10/2018 20:38

Things I ate when in full on morning all day sickness mode: wotsit sandwiches, ice lollies (lemon flavour) or lemon sorbet, cheese and bbq sauce on toast, pickled beetroot

I figured this covered all the main food groups. How I managed to grow a 9lb baby, twice, out of that I don’t know. And now DS’s favourite food is cheese, and the other ds’s is beetroot.

5tarlight · 29/10/2018 08:33

Proper done-in-the-oven jacket spuds, mashed potato, crumpets, toast, crackers (all the above with much butter), cereal, biscuits, cheese sandwiches, ice lollies (essential), chips, fizzy water, coke (full fat). Most days I could manage some normal food alongside eg spag bol, roast chicken ( but often didn't feel like cooking it) When you write it down its not great at all but it gets you through and it's is (hopefully) only a few weeks!

FirstTimeBumps · 29/10/2018 12:58

I concur with 5tarlight. That was pretty much my diet (plus mint aero's which helped with my heartburn) for the first three months. Was convinced the baby would be tiny at my 20 week scan due to my poor diet and lack of protein and baby measures spot on 20 weeks for everything so now I don't let anyone tell me oh you should be eating this or that blah blah. Just get as much of whatever you can stomach (entire pots of home made mash!) X

Chicken noodle soup! I’m having mine with rice noodles and it’s going down pretty well. Don’t think I could manage real noodles today

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 29/10/2018 13:26

I’m watching this thread with interest as I’m on my third pregnancy and I’m having the toughest time yet with big devastating flashes of nausea.

So far I’ve been eating crumpets. Many many crumpets.

RosiePosies · 29/10/2018 14:02

Packets of chicken noodle soup (so good) that you just boil up with white bread and butter.
Plain jacket potato with butter. I eventually moved up to beans and cheese (that was a good moment)
I cut up little bits of cheddar into bite size chunks and kept them in sandwich bags to snack on, along with an apple.
Dried mango in packets.
Cereal bars
Fresh fruit
Fizzy water
Salt and vinegar crisps
Carrot and celery sticks, with hummus if possible

brodiee · 29/10/2018 14:22

Cereal, rich tea biscuits, croissants

SilverbytheSea · 29/10/2018 14:28

Pretty much anything potato! (Roast, mashed, baked)
Plain pasta with salt and pepper
Pom bears
Instant noodles

StargazyDrifter · 29/10/2018 14:48

Lately I'm a big fan of the instant chicken noodles by a brand called Kabuto. And crisps. Everything else remains a bit questionable! I can't work out if it's worth trying to keep eating normally and healthily or whether I should just give in for a couple of weeks.

Spargle · 29/10/2018 15:24

I’m tending to try to give in to every healthy craving I have (managed bananas and a peeled pear so far), even if I only end up taking a bite. I figure that wasting a lot of food (or having DH eat it) is just what’s going to happen now.

On that note, maybe tinned pears are an idea of something that can be eaten

StargazyDrifter · 29/10/2018 15:38

Haha! 'Getting DH to eat it' isn't a big theme in our household at the moment too!

Tinned pears and tinned peaches are a great thought.

I managed a banana and kiwi chopped up this morning. Yesterday I picked out all the veg from my stir fry and left it at that. 😂

StargazyDrifter · 29/10/2018 15:40

Sorry IS a big theme - those tinned pears got me all distracted.

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 29/10/2018 15:44

Ready meal fish pies kept me going for a while. Potato waffles. Jacket potatoes. Macdonalds chips Blush

Also I know this isn’t what you asked exactly but I found it better to eat in the morning and for lunch, evening meals were a write off for me. I hope you stop feeling sick really soon.
