I've been off work sick for a while now due to bad sickness, and as a result I'm losing the plot! I'm fed up of netflix, being in bed/asleep, sitting on the sofa, etc etc...I know I will miss this when I'm dealing with a newborn lol! But I am too unwell to even potter about/see others.

Did anyone face a similar situation and go a bit stir crazy? :(

Yeah, I'm in the same boat! The pregnant sickness support website has some good advice about coping etc. It's a horrible time; fingers crossed it passes soon for us!

Yes i did it for 2 months...

couldnt say i even enjoyed the time off work - it was horrific. I actually felt depressed if im honest after 4 weeks - was glad to go back to work! weirdly lol

Yeah I'd say I'm pretty depressed now; in my 4th week off. However I'm also still to sick you go back :( need to go extend my sickline at the docs tomorrow. Feeling really guilty, tired, nauseous and just generally pretty low. I hate being off but there's no way I can go back yet. Just wish the next few weeks were over.

Oh my god! I was exactly the same from week 6 - week 14. I’ve been back at work the last two weeks and honestly Im loving it as I couldn’t take being at home any longer! I work in HR and I’ve always had a sympathetic view on pregnancy related illness (I’m not just saying that and this is my first pregnancy) however little naive me didn’t realise how brutal and draining it really is!

I was off work for 4 weeks and had 1 week holiday leave, I cried the entire time lost 10 pounds in a 4 week period and struggled like crazy before I was off sick. I feel like there’s little understanding on morning sickness particularly from doctors, don’t get me wrong they prescribed tablets (which I’m unfortunately still on as I’m awful without them) however, I was sick all day, everyday and was told It’s completely normal and will pass by week 12 or “it’s a sign everything’s well!” It was such a hard, frustrating and emotional time. It’s just so demoralising feeling so weak and ill isn’t it!

Morning sickness let’s face it, is all day sickness with nausea sprinkled on top! I really feel for you and hope you feel better soon. If it helps - As I touched upon I’ve massively improved and I’m 16 + 3 now, I found talking about it helped along with crying when I needed to! Other than that, I think I managed to watch a full series of Handmaids Tale if you’ve not seen that before - it’s decent Smile

@KateTTC123 I felt exactly like you too, don’t feel guilty though - just remember it’s not only your health you need to look after now. Make sure you take all the time you need and take it easy! I went back to work and everyone’s been welcoming, I realised then I shouldn’t have felt guilty for taking the time I needed. As the world didn’t end, unfortunately my colleagues had to pick more work up but I’ve certainly taken it all back and more!

I hope you feel better soon Smile
