Hi , I hope some of you ladies can share your opinion based on personal experience or knowledge because I dont have much experience in pregnancy matters.
I had miscarriage in July and two periods since then with 10-11 days bleeding both. I had scheduled check up scans one on the 17th of Oct and another 22nd as I wanted opinion whether the small fibroid would affect future pregnancy. Both scans went fine they said I have nothing to worry and i asked can thy tell why my period is a bit late this month. The first scan was the 38th day of my cycle and the second 42th. During the second scan she said I should expect my period soon and I believed her as two days before this I made a test and was negative.
As I was quite hesitant for the fact that my period is not coming I made another test the day after the second scan (5 days after the first one) and it showed positive this time. The next morning I made third and it was again positive.
I am very confused and worried because if I am pregnant the doctor should have been able to spot it, am I not correct? (one more detail - unprotected sex on the 27th day of my cycle)

If you are getting positive pregnancy tests then I’d say you are pregnant.

I don’t think you can assume it would have been spotted on the scans. Early pregnancies are very small and they may not have been looking for one!

My earliest scan was 16 days after I ovulated which is about as early as they can locate a pregnancy. You had unprotected sex on CD27, and so you probably ovulated within the 5 days following (so up to cd32). That means that if you had an internal scan with a competent person doing the scan and a decent machine they should hope to see the pregnancy between cd43 and cd49, so your scans were probably a little early.

HTH

HTH, Thank you for your message. It makes sense what you are saying. I am also worried because I dont feel strong pregnancy symptoms. The previous time I got pregnant and miscarry I had very strong symptoms and pain in my stomach :(

You wouldn’t normally expect to see anything on a scan until about 5-6 weeks pregnant. As PP said it’s likely you ovulated a bit later than expected so your pregnancy would still be too early to see. From your dates I would think you were roughly 4 weeks or just under when you had the second scan on the 22nd.

I suspect the sonographer said you would have your period soon because she could see a thickened lining of the womb but this can be a sign of early pregnancy as well as being normal just before your period.

Tentative congratulations! Fingers crossed for a sticky one for you.

I miscarried in July in week 15. In week 12 on mt first scan i found out baby has stopped growing in week 5. I didnt have medical no intervention. It was hard but i recovered. I was told it's unlikely to happen again.
In October i was 11 days late and did a test- negative. 3 days after i did again another test and to my surprise it was positive. I went for a scan 17 days after the positive test and they saw only sac and yolk. They asked me to go back 7 days after this and i went last Friday. I was so anxious but the doctor said good news- she saw flicking - heartbeat 111 bpm and growth. She said i might have had very late ovulation (my periods after the miscarriage lasted 10-12 days). She said it was 6 weeks and 4 days .
Yesterday i went to see if there is progress (privately) and they said no heartbeat and no growth. I wasn't expecting this really. I was so hopeful after the good news last week :(.....
Now i need to go on Monday back to UCLH where i had the previous scans and seek help... I am so confused why they don't want to grow....?????
