Hi,

I'm thinking of booking a 16 week gender scan and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences (good or bad) or if its too early to tell?

thanks in advance!
xx

Hiya, Had a scan at 16 week 1 day with my DD, it said Girl, 20 week scan confirmed Girl and when she was born they said Girl :D
We had ours with babybond

We had one at 17 weeks and it was great - very clear he was a boy, even we could tell, little exhibitionist. Got a 3D peek too and saw him yawn - definitely recommend!

They normally say 99.9% accurate.
I think if they're not sure they'll rescan you a few weeks later.
I had mine at 16 weeks and 4 days with my DS. It took a while to get an accurate shot as he was in a bad position, but when he finally moved even I saw his bits, no denying he was a boy. NHS confirmed at 20 weeks he was a boy and he came out a boy.

We had one done with this pregnancy, confirmed again at the anomoly scan.

Just don’t let on to your nhs sonographer- I mentioned it at my 20 week scan during the week and she got really terse with me and said she had an ethical issue with private scans...

A consultant told me that if they see boy bits, it’s definitely a boy but not seeing them doesn’t necessarily mean girl! So with a girl, whilst they’re looking for the 3 lines, there’s a much higher margin of error. And that’s if baby is a good position. Most of the time if they can then they’re accurate though.

I'm thinking of it myself @op, but just can't make my mind up! How far along are you?

I had one at 16 weeks for my DTs, one was quite obviously a boy (even we could see it!) and the other was a girl, both confirmed at 20 week scan, and at birth Grin

Hi all we had a 16 week sex scan yesterday and this is the scan...guesses please as we were told what the baby is but for some reason I'm not totally convinced...what does everyone think?
