I'm wondering if anyone can help! I've had piles for a while but recently they have started to become really sore! Does anyone know how I can relieve the pain?!

I have my first one and am 38 weeks. Mine isn't sore yet luckily...but when researching I often read that a cold compress on them really helps. Good luck!

Cream and suppositories from GP as your first point of call. I find the over counter stuff not as effective. Cold compress can help as can salt baths. Elevate your legs as often as you can during the day to relieve pressure. Increase fibre in your diet so you go to the toilet more easily and avoid straining. I often need lactulose to keep me going so maybe something to consider as well.
I had a ruptured haemorrhoid in past so can actively recommend doing all you can now to reduce them. Mine are terrible and will need surgery to remove once I’ve have this baby (DC3)
Good luck XX

Id recommend a warm bath and sit there for atleast 20mins, or you can get a Sitz bath which you put on the toilet - I didn’t bother though and just used the bath it reduced the pain/soreness and the lump in general. In fact I spend a lot of my free time in the bath (the piles have cleared up) I think it’s just a habit now!

As someone else has mentioned, I have to use lactulose to keep things moving too. Fingers crossed they haven’t made a reappearance yet.

Hope you feel better soon Smile
