I had my dating scan this morning, 13 weeks exactly and saw heartbeat flickering away and baby wriggling and kicking about.
Fast forward to 9pm this evening and goes for a wee to see bright red blood in the toilet. Bright red upon wiping a couple of times after.
I had some sharp pains in abdomen and perenium(sp?) a bit before but put it down to ligament pain. I went to A&E after ringing 111, gets to A&E and theres no blood at all, not even on tissue.

Was sent home with a date for a scan next week and told to rest and no heavy lifting. I guess i’m looking for words of encouragement that everything will be okay. Anyone had similar and your beautiful DCs are currently snoozing away oblivious to all the chaos?

Not me personally but friends of mine have had bleeding in early pregnancy and one had bleeding off an on throughout. Babies were all fine and are happy healthy toddlers now.

I know it's hard but the best thing you can do is to rest and try to relax. I hope that your little one is ok

I'm so sorry you are going through this.

I had breakthrough bleeding at roughly 4,8 and 12 weeks with both pregnancies. I also had heavier bleeding with baby 1 around 14/15 weeks and everything was absolutely fine.

Good luck and I hope you have a positive outcome

Thank you, your stories are encouraging 🙂
It just seems so odd that I saw a bouncing baby with a strong heartbeat this morning, to bright red blood less than 12 hours later.
It’s going to be a long three days.

Yes, in both my pregnancies. Now strapping teenagers.

I went for a wee during my dating scan and had red blood, I was lucky that my bladder had been too full so I could go back in for her to complete the scan. I mentioned it to the sonographer and she couldn't see any reason for it, all was fine in the end. If worried are you able to get a private scan?

BaggaT · 26/10/2018 00:09

I had bleeding constantly from 7 weeks until 11 weeks or so. Sometimes heavy and bright red. It was terrifying, but I am currently cuddling a snotty 7 month old who can’t sleep, and who was the result of that pregnancy. It was a haematoma that showed as a patch of bleeding on the scans. If you have something similar it’s possible that the scan could have irritated it. After a good scan today, it would be so rare for something bad to have happened. Fingers crossed it all works out for you. x

I went for a scan at 13 weeks, returned to work and was teaching a lesson and could just feel blood trickling down my leg. I still don’t know how but I calmly asked a colleague to keep an eye on my class, went to the loo, cleaned up, put a pad on, went back and finished off teaching my lesson. Thankfully it was the end of the day! Went home called midwife who got me in the next morning and found a heartbeat on the Doppler (lucky at that gestation!!) i then had a scan at 16 weeks to check everything was ok.

5 month old DD has just woken up screaming! Hence the reply at this time

I had bleeding the day after my 12 week scan. I just couldn't believe it, after seeing that all looked well and then blood the next day, I was absolutely gutted. However, it did stop after a day and I'm now 32 weeks gone, they actually refused to even check me and just said to keep an eye on it and ring if it becomes very heavy, which luckily it didnt. I do wonder if the scan caused it, as the sonographer pressed really hard very low down and it was painful. I'll never know what caused it unfortunately. I hope it's the same for you, wishing you all the best, OP x

Bleeding can be common. I did ivf so I was on a lot of forums and I was surprised how normal it was
It could be it settling in etc
Good luck with your pregnancy

ListenLinda · 26/10/2018 10:42

Same again this morning, wiped a few times then nothing. absolutely nothing. no pain, no blood. what on earth?

I'm wondering if it could have anything to do with my C section tissue/scar?

I'm just clinging to every possibility. i saw my baby wriggling around like a good one, I'm refusing to believe anything has happened when I saw the strong heartbeat.

@ListenLinda So sorry you're going through this. My Mum actually bled the whole way through pregnancy from 11 weeks onwards. Is there any way you could book a scan privately? X

ListenLinda · 26/10/2018 11:54

There are a few places around but unfortunately don't have the funds.
I'm just trying to keep busy to not think about it as much, but I am terrified.

@ListenLinda They are very pricey! Try to stay positive and keep your mind busy. Hugs to you

Darkstar4855 · 26/10/2018 15:49

I know someone who had a horrendous heavy bleed right after her dating scan, hospital said it was probably a miscarriage but in the end the baby was fine.

The odds of a miscarriage are much, much lower for you now than in the early weeks, even with bleeding. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

I’ve been reading up on Subchrionic hematoma, and praying that’s what it is.
