First trimester tiredness

Currently approx 6 weeks pregnant with DC2. I am utterly exhausted. Really concerned as back to work next week after annual leave, I don’t want to tell anyone yet but I can’t keep my eyes open. Having daily naps help but won’t be able to do that.

Anyone have any tips?

Snap. Early nights and a decent breakfast in the mornings. I drink Pukka tea at work ( safe during pregnancy) good for waking me up during an afternoon slog

I was the same in the first trimester (I’m now 24 weeks) and felt like I was barely productive at all at work.

I have chosen to avoid caffeine completely so far so no caffeine to keep me awake and also didn’t nap. I basically got up in the morning, went to work, did what I could through the day, and then when I got home I ate something and went to bed early. DH was really good and cooked and cleaned a lot more than he usually would to ensure I ate and got rest and we also stopped off for breakfast together every morning before work. We work close together and I realise not everyone can do that but eat three meals (more if you need / snack if it helps) and go to bed early. Let your partner or family and friends help you and just accept you might not be able to do all the things you’d normally do like for me it was not working late, barely doing my hair some days(!) and I just didn’t make plans in the evening as I wanted to rest.
