2 miscarriages in a row after seeing heartbeats

Hi there, I'm currently going through my second miscarriage within the last 5 months. My first miscarriage was a few months ago, with monochorionic twins after seeing heartbeats at 6 weeks. My second (current) miscarriage was after seeing a heartbeat at 7 weeks. I have an almost 2 year old daughter (who I'm so grateful for), so I understand that rules out certain potential fertility issues. However I don't feel I have any real understanding about fertility and miscarriages and am keen to get more information so I can do what I can to avoid a third miscarriage in a row, or at least to understand potential causes better than simply assuming chomosonal abnormalities. I'd be grateful for any advice and/or details of London fertility specialists. Many thanks

I don’t have any advice. I wanted to say I’m so sorry for your losses xx

I've had 6 mc even after seeing heat beats. I saw a specialist and did lots of tests and everything came back as normal. My daughter was born premature at 28 weeks and she has an extra chromosome (but prematurity wasn't cause by that). I have 2 boys who do not have the extra chromosome and was born full term. After 3 years of continuous ms's I am currently 22+6 weeks pregnant with another little girl. ( crapping my pants tho) after each mc the doctor sent it off for test to see if there was any abnormalities or defects but they always came back that everything was fine. Don't give up, you're Not on your own. Good luck xx

Not to frighten you because it most likely isn’t this but google secondary infertility, having one child sadly doesn’t rule infertility out.

Having said that, I had two missed miscarriages last year after seeing strong heartbeats. It happens and most of the time is completely unexplained. I’m now almost 39 weeks with a healthy baby so I got there in the end Smile.

So sorry for your losses.

Iost a baby at 12+2 having seen a healthy baby on a scan just days earlier. No explanation available, “just one of those things”Sad
I have 2 dcs and they were healthy pregnancies. Currently pregnant again, so we’ll see x good luck x

So sorry for your loss.

I often wonder how true it is that miscarriage reduces by ninety-something percent once the heartbeat is detected. Because it isn't the case in so, so many case that I'm aware of.

I too had a miscarriage but after the 12 week scan in which everything was well.

I absolutely hated that there was no explanation. It was like insult to injury. But over time I came to accept my lack of control over the situation.

Unfortunately unless it keeps occurring the doctors do put it down to "one of those things" because it probably is. As hard as that is to take (it was for me anyway). I'm now 32 weeks pregnant.

Best of luck with the future.
