What to do with my dog when I’m in labour?

Apologies if this has been asked before!

I am 24 weeks pregnant so still loads of time. We have a dog and I have no idea what to do with her when I’m in labour!

My parents live about 15 mins drive away but I don’t want them to know when I am in labour. My mum doesn’t walk her 3 dogs (my dad does it) so it means that my dad would have to come home from his work take his own dogs out and then take my dogs out.

My BIL and brother both live by but I wouldn’t trust my BIL with looking after the dog. My brother might do it but he would need someone to look after his cat :/

I suggested getting a dog walker or putting her in kennels but I obviously don’t know how long I’ll be labour for and DH isn’t keen.

Any suggestions?

Get a dog walker. It's the only sensible solution. Ask around locally and find someone you can trust to look after your dog while you're delivering your baby. Don't overthink it, and don't panic.

I would I think if possible get a dog walker now or soon to take the dog out a few tiles before you hsvevyour baby so he/she gets used to that and if you can find a dog walker who also does home boarding and have dog spend half a day there or so so it’s not a shock when you are in hospital that would be least stressful for your dog

If you've ruled out family, I would find a boarder and do a few trial runs now so your dog gets used to the environment.
