This is my second pregnancy (my first wasn’t so long ago there will be 13 months between the children) and with my first pregnancy I gained a horrendous 4 stone and after having my son I lost 2 stone which left me at about 10 stone 9lb which I was fairly happy with. Fell pregnant again after 4 months and gained weight in the first few months pushing me up to 11st 7lb but since I’ve had my scan at 13 weeks I haven’t gained a single pound and I’m now 31 weeks pregnant. I’ve increased my portion sizes, I snack, I’m very inactive at the moment because of spd but I haven’t gained anything at all. I’ve booked to see the midwife on Tuesday because it’s playing on my mind a little .. more so now that surely the baby must be weighing something but I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or would be worried ?

Speak to your midwife but as long as the baby is growing as normal I wouldn't worry about it (probably easier said than done). I had my baby 4 weeks ago but barely gained any weight until I was about 34 weeks. It then shot up and then within two weeks of my baby being born I was back to the weight i was at my 8 week midwife appt. my baby was and is well so I just assume that the only weight I gained was baby, excess water, placenta etc.

I am assuming you have had your 20 week scan and are being seen by a midwife regularly who measures you and monitors heartbeat so I am sure that being be case all is fine

Yeah I’ve had the scan but not many appointments with the midwife because it’s second baby and my first wasn’t so long ago. I haven’t seen her since 16 weeks.

I lost weight in all my pregnancies. The babies all grew perfectly, two were over 9lb. If your measuring correctly and scans are ok I wouldn't worry.

I am surprised you haven’t seen a midwife since 16weeks? It wouldn’t make any difference if it was your second baby as the midwife usually see you every 4-5 weeks up until 28 weeks and then every 2-3 weeks up until 36 weeks. When are you seeing a midwife?

Sorry OP just seen your booked to see the midwife on Tuesday!
