Congratulations! I remember in my first trimester I literally could have slept on a pavement, at a moment’s notice. It does get better in the second trimester. But watch out for it again in your third, where you’re more likely to develop anaemia.

Happily pregnancy suppresses your immune system so autoimmune conditions such as lupus and RA usually improve (although return again postnatally).

I felt similar at 8 weeks, I thought the exhaustion and nausea would never end. I ended up on tablets for the sicknesses because I was getting very dehydrated which helped a lot but I barley moved except to go to work.

I'm now 11 weeks and the constant exhaustion has started to lift. I still get worn out more quickly than I used to but I don't need a few hours kip between work and bedtime now. The nausea is also getting better and I'm taking less tablets.

Hope it gets better for you soon!

I felt sooo tired at 6-9 weeks.

I have ivf and two embryos transferred so jnitislot everyone thought it must be twins because I was so tired. Just one!

I also have an under active thyroid so then I thought it must be that my thyroid was playing up - nope!

Turns out just one baby making me super tired.

I can really clearly remember calling my husband from work at lunchtime and sobbing down the phone that I couldn't cope and I didn't know how I could stay awake for 3 more hours! Nevertheless I did! 26 weeks now and still had a nap yesterday!

Good luck!

The first trimester is so hard!
Everyone says that you will never feel as tired as you do with a newborn and that's BS - you never feel as tired as you do when you're in your first trimester! (In my case anyway)

The second trimester will be so much easier.

For now, try and rest as much as you can, eat well and lots of fluids. That's all you can do I'm afraid.

Congratulations on your pregnancy xx

Spatone! Whilst I don’t have any prexiditing conditions my 2nd pg was as you describe.

This time I’m taking spatone and it’s transformed my energy levels.

Get some xx

If it helps, I felt more tired during my first trimester than after the baby even arrived!! This is the worst part, hopefully you will feel better very soon x
