Welcome to the pre-labour club!!!!

I've had these since week 35. I'm now nearly 39 weeks and movement, going to the loo, the baby moving, all make them worse. Sometimes they really make me catch my breath, which causes some Very Funny Looks in shops because my bump is huge and very low down. Those are the pains that I want knocked off my labour tally, when labour eventually starts.

My doula says that the period pains of labour will come in waves - build, peak, diminish, and will be regular. I've now reached the stage where I don't pray for a short or easy labour, but just for labour.

Bubble, I had these from 33 weeks and actually went in wice for monitoring as I was sure it was happening. I was booked in for an elective section at 39+2 and had them right up until I had the section. they got very annoying and we were very nearly back at the hospital the night before my section...but it would all stop when i had a bath!

From what I've read on here though...a slow burner like this usually makes for an easier second stage.

Good Luck, and come and join us on the June ante-natal thread when you are done!!

My EDD is 26th June but I think a more accurate date would be 3rd July.

daisyboo · 16/06/2007 11:53

these last few weeks are the hardest aren't they?....I'm so glad all that waiting is over!

CorrieDale · 16/06/2007 12:07

They sure are. I thought nothing on earth could convince me to have another elective, but as time trudges on, and I acquire further and better pains in bodily parts I'd never noticed before, and get slower and slo-o-o-ower, I really start to wonder...

Three days after mine, I wasn't quite so sure I'd made the right decision, but its day 11 now and I feel fine!

CorrieDale · 16/06/2007 12:35

lol. Funny how time after the event is so much kinder than time before it, isn't it? 11 days is pretty good going though - although I recovered mega-quickly last time, I was a) 2 years younger and am now at an age when 2 years counts! and b) didn't have a toddler to run around after too. Glad to hear it's worked out for you.
