Anyone conceive whilst taking Lanzaprozole?

Hi all

I think I'm pgrenant but taking 30mg lanzaprozole for excess stomach acidity. Don't want to stop taking it unless I'm sure I'm pg. My GP said it "should" be OK.

Anyone else taken this through pregnancy?

Hi I took it when I fell pg, but was advised to come off it. I had horrendous heartburn as I have hiatus hernia, so ended up on Ranitidine 2x day which helped but was not as good as lansoprazole.

Could not take it whilst I was bf too.

I had to take this while pg too.
It can't be tested on pg women which is the only reason why gp's say it "should" be ok. If I remember rightly Lanzaprozole is older than ranitidine which is why gps are more happy to prescribe during pg as no known problems. Ranitidine (aka Zantac) is supposed to give better relief (as mygp said its a wonder drug) but as it is newer (albeit around 20 years) there is a wee bit less known about it.

I guess zantac will have to do!!

you will find it wont work as well as lansoprazole, but I also swigged gaviscon like it was going out of fashion!

yeah gaviscon advance - I had hundreds of bottles of this while pg!
