Excessive Saliva in pregnancy

Hello,

I am 14 weeks pregnant today, I've had bad nausea since week 5 and thankfully that constant sea sickness feeling is passing and I'm starting to feel normal again.

Unfortunately I am having to spit what seems like every 5 minute with excessive saliva building up in my mouth, I've tried swallowing and it just makes me feel really sick.
I'm down about this as I can't really do much as I not up for spitting in public and my family find it disgusting and to be fair they aren't wrong!! Lol

I just wanted to know and talk to people that have experienced this and to find out when this symptom went away?

I didn't have this but a good friend did! She had to take roll of kitchen towel everywhere with her to absorb it! It's unusual but not unheard of. I think her's went away at around 18 weeks.

I definitely had this earlier on in my pregnancy. Probably around the same time as you. The good news is that it does go away.. But it was a nightmare while it lasted. I never actually noticed when it stopped, it just did eventually. I used to keep water or drink nearby to make swallowing it a bit more pleasant, but I never found a solution so to speak.

I know someone who had this and she'd researched it loads. Most people's settle when morning sicknesses settles by poor friend had it throughout both pregnancies and had a selection of spit towels she carried everywhere even down the aisle when she was a bridesmaid!

She saw the dentist loooads as well as it can effect your teeth. Anti sickness meds didn't help but they're worth trying to speak to your GP.

Happened with both her pregnancies but INSTANTLY stopped on delivering!

Hope yours is more mild than this

I had this and you have my sympathy , it's horrible and unfortunately for me it only just stopped last week 36 weeks , I have had bad sickness and then nausea pretty much the entire time though which I think went hand in hand with it.
