Is this preterm labour?

Long winded..
Basically lost a bit of my plug last Sunday. Started with period cramping and a few tightenings.. nothing to get too excited about. They petered out and over the following days, got the odd gippy pain but that's about it.
Friday I woke up with pain and tightenings. I timed them at 2-4 minutes apart, lasting 30 seconds. I called triage who told me to go and get checked. CTG showed regular tightenings so was given a speculum examination. Cervix soft, high and os fingertip. Registrar didn't think it was labour, more BH, however I was admitted and monitored for 6 hours. Pains eventually went away again so avoided a steroid dose for baby's lungs (I'm 33+1)
Saturday, Sunday had tightenings but no pattern to them. Last night began having more intense 'period type pain' some quite uncomfortable.
This morning woke up to period pain again and started having tightenings. No timing to them but feeling more pressure in my cervix. Had hospital appointment and lost more mucous plug when I went to the loo. The tightenings that I'm having also seem to be spreading to my back a bit too. I'm at my wits end and don't want to go back to the hospital to be told they're BH. Similarly if it is true labour then I'll need steroids for baby's lungs.. does it sound like early labour?

Hi, I'm surprised no one has answered your thread.

This kind of thing can go on for weeks.

Was it a large amount of plug, or just some of it? The plug is huge when they whole lot goes so it's can be quite a significant loss.

Have you spoken to triage today? Have you considered asking for steroid injections just in case?

I had that for weeks with DS2. I figured it was my body "limbering up". When it did happen, labour was pretty quick and easy compared to the first time around when I didn't experience this.
