He can be whatever you want him to be...he's on an hourly rate though mind!!

oh bless you! I damaged my coccyx bone with my 2nd pg and it was excrutiating! I went to sit down on my office chair when I was about 16 wks but it had rolled away and I crashed to the floor! I remember it made the rest of the pg quite miserable because I couldn't get comfortable at all.
Really feel for you and hope you find something that helps...

oh, I so sympathise! I fell down the stairs when I was 4 months pregnant and despite some really quite unpleasant and embarrassing treatment from the osteo, it still gives me a bit of gyp. You must be in agony! Do you have a nice rubber ring to sit on? Or a birthing ball - I find that that helps quite a lot.

I broke mine almost 2 weeks ago. Can still hardly move! How long does it take to heal?I'm 15 weeks pg too.

PurpleLostPrincess · 16/06/2007 12:49

Erm, its hard to remember but I'd say a couple of months at least I'm afraid .

I bruised it badly again coming down a water slide last summer (was quite hilarious looking back really!) and it took a couple of months to get back to normal then too.

You can take codeine for when its really bad though - ask your doctor for a low dose perhaps?

BornToBeAPrincess · 16/06/2007 12:57

He gave me paracetamol and said to rest, but its a bit hard with a baby and a 3 yr old! Oh well, looks like another week off work

PurpleLostPrincess · 16/06/2007 13:17

Oh bless you

Hope you manage to find ways to get comfy and that it heals quickly for you... xx

I used to treat coccydynia when I was working as an OP physio. Ultrasound or laser worked quite well (bit fiddly to get to mind, got quite good at buttock seperation with one hand). Never treated a pregnant lady though. Laser doesn't go very deep so prob. not contraindicated but you could get a referral to a Obs&Gynae Physio and they would know.

Thanks purple. I've got to go to the doctors again on monday so will ask about any other possible treatments. Sorry for hijacking the thread
