this is a long shot but has anyone had lichen sclerosus (a skin condition of the lady garden) and delivered vaginally? My skin tears really easily so I'm a bit worried and would like to hear if others have managed it.

My sister has this and successfull had a natural birth. I don't want to worry you (Sorry if I do) but she did tear quite badly. However, she said it was because she didn't listen to her midwife and had a long labour, was fed up and just pushed like hell to get her son out xx

(Forgot to say that she had a planned section for her second and part of the reason was her condition) xx

Hello!

I have this and gave birth vaginally a few months ago. I also didn't use my steroid cream during the pregnancy but the midwives/drs kept a close eye on it. I made sure I used dermol 500 (shower version too) religiously! I had a cut but no tears thankfully and recovery has been fine!

@elpreggo27 Hi! I have this condition, I am worried too and spoke to my midwife at my booking in appointment to see if I could have a natural birth, she didn't know and has referred me to a consultant. HOWEVER, if you google it (pregnancy or labour + lichen sclerosis) there is a forum where people have shared their experience and majority are very positive in terms of a natural birth and only slight to no tearing so have a look on there to ease your mind/help you make a decision. I'm personally thinking of a water birth (in my mind it might help with lubrication!)
